What is Pharmaceutical Technology
Pharmaceutical technology is a field of medicine which deals with preparation, dosage and side effects of different medicines. The course provides the students basic knowledge on the manufacturing process and different machines used in the production of the tablets of any medicine. The aspiring candidates will be able to apply scientific knowledge into work, combining the field of pharmaceutical and technology.
There are 2 courses related to Pharmaceutical technology ; Bachelors in Technology and Masters in Technology. Both courses provide specialization in Pharmaceutical Technology . While B.Tech. provides the basic knowledge, the Master's course provides advanced knowledge in a specific course. Let’s take a look at what these courses are all about.
Eligibility Criteria (UG & PG) of Pharmaceutical Technology
For B.Tech.
Students who are above 17 years of age and have passed 10+2 level with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics with a minimum 50% are eligible for this course. Few institutes only allow students who have passed entrance exams.
This highly depends on the reputation of the institute. Institutes may also conduct an interview session at the time of counselling for Pharmaceutical technology.
For M. Tech.
Pharmaceutical technology course requires students to graduate from B.Tech. from a recognized university. After one is eligible for the course, s/he can go further with the counselling process. The counselling process may contain an interview round.
Some prestigious institutes also require the student to clear GATE examination or any institute specific examination.
Entrance Exams for Pharmaceutical Technology
Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main) (For B.Tech)
Joint Entrance examination, also known as JEE is a yearly exam conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA). This is a common entrance exam for admission in almost all the engineering colleges in India.
The exam is conducted in two stages; JEE Main and JEE Advanced. Advanced is for admissions in IITs. Some colleges also conduct their exam and admission is based on the same. They don’t take admissions based on JEE Main.
Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (For M.Tech)
Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is an examination conducted by IITs every year. The duration of this exam is 3 hours. This exam makes the students eligible for further studies in different Postgraduate colleges or many high-profile jobs in India or abroad.
Many institutes conduct direct counselling based on the performance of the colleges. Cutoffs are released and you can check for them on official websites of respective institutes.

Completing your bachelors degree in India in Pharmaceutical sector , it is truly very difficult to get a job in the abroad because they won't give you preference ahead of their own candidates who have pursued their bachelor's from their country.
So, I would prefer you to do a master degree if possible from abroad then it would be much easier to get a job there. But if you wish to stay in India then you can get a job here even if you won't do masters. But again the growth won't be that much if you won't do a masters degree.

do i need maths in class 12 to join b.tech pharmaceutical technology

If you want to go for the course of BTech in Pharmaceutical Technology then most of the institute will ask for Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as subject combination in 10+2. Now as per the NEP 2020, if the student have Mathematics or Physics any one subject in 10+2 then they are eligible for the BTech course. Now this rule isn't implemented by all the institutes in India. So before filing up for admission, you should visit the official website of the college and understand the eligibility criterion.

Hello,
The eligibility criteria to pursue M.Pharmacy is that a candidate must have passed B.Pharmacy with the required minimum marks from a recognised board. The minimum percentage of marks that is required to score in the qualifying examination by the candidate will be different from one college to another. Considering the eligibility criteria you are not eligible to apply for M.Pharmacy admission as you haven't studied B.Pharmacy in under graduate level.
