Eligibility Criteria For Undergraduate Textile Technology Courses
i. It is mandatory to have a 10+2 education completion certificate from the recognised education board.
ii. The total aggregate marks obtained in 10+2 should be at least 60% (relaxation of 5% for SC/ST/PWD).
iii. Students are required to give either a national level entrance test or course suitability test of the institute and sometimes both along with a personal interview round.
Eligibility Criteria For Undergraduate Textile Technology Courses
i. Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree completion certificate in a textile-related field.
ii. The total minimum aggregate marks are needed to be 55% (5% relaxation for SC/ST/PWD).
iii. Students may be asked for additional criteria such as entrance examination or personal interview.
Textile Technology Entrance Exams
Textile Technology is a relatively popular course among students. For admission, students can either apply for national, state or university level entrance exams. There are different sets of entrance exams for graduation and post graduation courses.
Entrance exams for a Bachelor’s degree in Textile Technology are –
i. Vellore Institute of Technology Engineering Entrance (VITEEE)
It is a university level examination that is computer-based and conducted in August. The entrance exam allows students to take admission into various engineering courses offered by the institute.
ii. IIT Joint Entrance Examination (IIT JEE)
IIT JEE is a national level exam conducted for admission into various engineering programmes. The exam is divided into two phases JEE Main and JEE Advanced. Students need to clear JEE Main to be eligible for JEE Advanced
iii. Jawaharlal Nehru University Engineering Entrance Exam (JNUEE)
The JNU conducts this exam nationwide for distinct engineering courses including textile technology. The exam is organised in October.
Entrance exams for a Master’s degree and Diploma in Textile Technology are –
I. Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE)
GATE is conducted via online mode for post-graduation courses in engineering. It is a national level entrance exam organised in February.
Ii. Post-Graduation Engineering Common Entrance Test (PGECET)
The exam is conducted for admission into various master’s programmes in engineering by the states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Students must have a bachelor’s degree to qualify for the exam.
