Mock seat allocation and round 1 seat allocation is not same. There will be two mock seat allocation before round 1 seat allotment is released so there is a room for candidate to change his/her order of preferences of institute/branch depending on the mock seat allocation result. This enables the candidate to add or change the preferences of institute/branch before the actual seat allotment is released. Regardless of the category under which you are allocated a seat in mock counselling your actual seat allotment might or might not vary. So check the mock seat allotment and if you are willing to get admission in which you are allotted seat in mock counselling you do not have to change the preferences of institute/branch. But if you wish to get seat in better choice of institute/branch you may change the order of the preferences of institute/branch before the last date of choices filling for first round.
