Hello Student,
There is no need to prepare for GATE from your 1st year. You can start your preparation form the end of your 2nd year. This is the right time to start preparation. I am listing some points which will be very helpful for you in your preparation.
- First thing is that, you must know the complete syllabus of GATE as per your branch.
- Clear your basic concepts completely.
- Follow some good author books for preparation.
- Solve as many problems as you can.
- You can also refer to some good coaching institutes. They have a very straight forward approach for preparation.
- If you are not willing to take coaching, then you can take help of some online resources .
- These includes, GATE preparation Apps , You Tube , etc. You can also prepare form there.
- Solve as many previous year papers of GATE as you can.
- More the papers you solve, the better your score will be.
Hope this helps.
Hello aspirant
It is very good that you have your future goal and you are ready to achieve it. Gate is given by engineers to do Masters in top colleges like IISC, IITs. the syllabus of Gate covers all the subjects / topics which you have studied in your 4 year curriculum. So, to prepare for GATE, you have to obtain knowledge of your subjects. So, I will suggest you to study properly from your first year of college, then after second year, in 5th semester you should start your GATE preparation. Also, you can start your preparation in end of second year, or in 4th semester.
Till then, whatever subject or topic you study, if it is included in GATE syllabus, study that topic thoroughly and solve basic questions and then, advanced question like GATE level.
Hope this helps and all the best.
