Overall the branch is average. KIIT has good faculty for every branch in engineering. The infrastructure is good. But when it comes to placements it lags far behind other core branches. The average package is about 2.5 lakhs per annum. If you are getting some other branch in other good colleges then I think you should go for them.
All the best
I would suggest you one thing, forget about your placements and start studying .
If you r studying in 3rd/4th year of engineering, then I would suggest you to brush up all the electrical engineering concepts if you r willing to join in electrical core companies.
Organizations like Voltas, Philips, Tata steel etc core companies hire from Kiit every year. Of course the number of intakes are very much lower than the IT companies. Therefore the competition is also hiigher. Since they DONOT need a bulk of engineers , they only opt for the best and fittest for their position.
Work hard, build your concepts I your domain. Learn some additional software packages like MATLAB, etap, Arduino etc. to weigh your CV.
BEST OF LUCK FOR YOUR FUTURE.
