How to become a pilot. Is there any entrance exam conducted for this. Also wanted to know about admission process for Indragandhi Rashtriya Uran Academy. Please help..
Greetings, aspirant!
There are various types of pilots in the aviation industry, ranging from commercial to defence forces.
As for Commercial/Civil pilots, you need to have physics and maths as a compulsory subject in your higher secondary. From here on, you need to join a flying school. To get an admission into one, you need to appear for a written test, a medical test and an interview before you get selected.
The written test consists of 4 subjects: maths, general English, physics and logical reasoning. After this, candidate needs to appear for the medical test and interview as instructed by the DGCA.
After you've enrolled yourself with a flying school, you can pursue your B.Sc in Aviation.
In the duration of your course, you apply for a Student Pilot License. In order to get this license, a student must appear for an oral test conducted by a representative of the DGCA. This license allows you to undergo training as a student. By the time your course is over, you need to complete a minimum of 250 hours of training. After which, you can apply for a Commercial Pilot License.
Indira Gandhi rashtriya Uran Academy is one of the best institutions in the country for aviation related studies. In order to enroll in IGRUA, a candidate needs to to be a minimum of 17 years of age, and finished their 10+2 with a minimum aggregate of 50% with math and physics and their core subjects. In order to get an admission, a candidate has to appear for an online examination, followed by an interview round and pilot aptitude test. Final selection is done on the basis of pilot Aptitude test.
