Hello aspirant,

You can not become an IAS officer just after class 10th as you will have to  have mandatory age limit which is 21 years and by the time you achieve the age 21 you can always complete your bachelors or equivalent diploma courses. To become an IAS officer, you should appear for UPSC examination. And for being eligible for UPSC, you should have completed your Bachelor's degree in any subject. So if you are still in your 10th, yu will need to wait for 5 years before you appear for UPSC and become an IAS officer.

UPSC is a 3 stage   selection process involving Prelims, Mains and Interview which tests your personality test. Prelims has 2 Papers namely General Studies and CSAT.

General Studies has Current Events, History of India and Indian National Movement, Indian and World Geography, Indian Polity and Governance, Economic and Social Development, Environmental Ecology, Biodiversity and Climate Change and General Science.

CSAT has Comprehension, Interpersonal skills including communication skills, Logical Reasoning and Analytical ability, Decision making and problem solving, General Mental Ability, Basic numeracy and Data Interpretation.

You will need atleast to start preparing ahead of 1- 2 years. Few books that you can read from now to get a hang of the syllabus are:

Indian Polity for Civil Services bby M. Laxmikanth

Indian Art and Culture by Nitin Singhania

Certificate Physical and Human Geography by Gog Cheng Leong
