The prelims exam of IAS comprises two compulsory papers -General Studies Paper-I and II. While the mains examination comprises two qualifying papers. While, the papers that are counted for merit are - Paper-I, II, III, IV, V, VI and VII. Paper VI and VII are Optional Subjects, there are lists of optional subjects prescribed by the commission. As you have done MBBS, you can choose Medical Science. You can prepare for the exam in the following manner:

Be thorough with the syllabus

Improve your GK and English and read newspapers

Solve previous years question papers.
