You should not compare your marks with someone else. He may have done more hard-work than you during the preparation period. One "Sunday test" cannot decide his or your final marks. Focus on your preparation only.
Coming to the April attempt, try and strengthen your basics by thoroughly reading the NCERT. Read every bit and corner of the book (especially Chemistry) and solve each and every question in the book. This will expose you to all the concepts and the basics of the subjects. A lot of questions are based on the text of NCERT books.
After this, complete previous 20 years JEE Main and Advanced papers. You will realize your shortcomings and then work accordingly.
This technique, if religiously followed, will surely boost your score, and consequently your rank.
All the best!
