I am studying oil technology in HBTU, and if I give GATE exam in Chemical branch will I be eligible to get into PSUs ??
hi,
GATE stands for graduate aptitude test for engineering, gate score is evaluated to admission in post graduate courses like m.tech, phd courses in Indian university as well as foreign university. also public sector under takings like ongc, IOCL, ntpc etc psus hire management trainee or trainee engineers based on gate score. now for chemical engineering most of the vacancy comes from psus like ongc, iocl, hpcl, bpcl etc, the eligibility criteria is generally like candidates must have completed bachelor in engineering in chemical engineering. so here less chances to become eligible for psus, but you can definitely go for mtech courses in IITs and have decent career options available after completing m.tech from tier 1 Institute.
Gate exam opens the doors for psu's i.e. public sector units and m tech i.e. higher studies for students. You will definitely be eligible for psu's if you appear for gate for chemical engineering. There is going to be no problem in it. All the best for your future.
