I did not apply as an ews student for jee mains 2020 (january) but i may receive my ews certificate in the month of November or December. so can i apply as an ews student in jee main 2020(april).

At first, i want to say, I'm also a jee-main aspirant, and I have also faced the problem, and I called in NTA's helpline, and my problem has solved....
It's completely sure that, you may apply as EWS in April-Jee main, Now, if you give the application id of January jee main, while filling up the form of April exm, then it may automatically fill up the category as General, then you can change it, if then also you, mistakenly submit the form, you may change the category, when NTA will open correction window for April session...
By this you'll be treated as EWS, in counseling, so don't be worried, but the fact is you have to give January-jee main exm as General, as the correction procedure for jan session has been already ended, but your final percentile, including both jee main will surely come as EWS category .....
So, best up luck...

Dear Nagaveni, yes. If you are eligible for EWS reservation and in due time you will get your Category Certificate and Income Certificate as a proof of it, you can opt EWS as your Category for April Session though you selected General Category as the Category before. This shouldn't be an issue.as long as you have proof of documents to validate.
