CGPA scores are usually out of 10. So if you have secured a CGPA of 9.16 out of 10, then yes it is really good. For B.Tech lateral entry ,diploma with a valid score is very well equal to 12th standard. Most of the engineering colleges in India require a 60% aggregate in 3-year diploma (Engineering – any stream) after class 10 board exam. Some colleges may ask for CGPA and some will ask for a percentage. So if you need to convert your CGPA to percentage ,then just multiply it with 9.5 which in your case will convert to 87.02% .You can verify the conversion method with your institute or with the engineering college you wish to join.
