Hello Siddhi, For UPSC you have to 1st clear graduation (Final year graduate student can too apply for UPSC exam)... Topics they cover:
prelims - GS paper (History, Sci & tech, Polity, Geography, Art & culture, current affair, and environment)
Mains - Total 9 paper (4 GS paper, 1 essay paper, 1 Hindi and 1 English paper, and 1 optional paper (with paper I and Paper II))
steps that increase the chance to clear UPSC
1. Well aware of the syllabus (what all topics need to be covered)
2. Exam pattern (Type of questions they ask and the questions they avoid)
3. Go to the previous 10year question paper (pre and mains)
4. Solve as many as practice paper and mock test
5. The Most important is Writing practice because even if you clear the prelims paper, mains paper is all about "answers to the point" and "time management" as the paper is lengthy and allotted time is less
More practice more chances to clear UPSC CSE... All the best
