The distribution of seats for Ph.D. in Political Science in Panjab University (Chandigarh) for session 2020-21 is not available yet.
However, if we see the data of 2019, a total of 19 seats were offered for this course.
And if we apply the common 'Seat Distribution' matrix of the past year to it, we can say that -
-10 seats will be for candidates belonging to General category (accounting for 53.5% seats out of the total no. of seats available).
-3 seats will be for candidates belonging to Schedule Caste (15% of the total seats).
-2 seats for candidate belonging to Schedule Tribe (7.5 % the total seats)
- 1 seat for candidates belonging to Backward Classes (5% of the total seats).
- 1 seat for candidate belonging to PwD category (5% reservation).
- 1 seat for candidate belonging to Sports Category (5% reservation).
-.1 seat for candidates belonging to Defence category (5% reservation).
*2% reservation is offered to the wards of Riots and and 2% to those of Freedom fighters.
Additional seats (for the above and other categories if any) can be created for fulfillment of reservation criteria subject to the availability of seats only for the year in question.
The application form for PU-M.Phil. & Ph.D. will be tentatively available from 20th May to 27th June, 2020. Entrance exam has been scheduled to be held on 12th July, 2020.
