Resultant of two vector A=3icap +4jcap and B= alphaicap + 3jcap lies along y axis the value of alpha is?
Hello Nitin.
Well in order to solve this question you need to square both A and B vectors and then take the square root. After this step , since the resultant lies along the y axis, the x component(containg icap) will be 0. By this logic you will get alpha square = -9 , thus alpha = (+-3i).
