Hello Sandip,
Well to get a seat in NITs one needs to first clear JEE Mains as per their category & second they need qualifying board percentage. Below I have listed 2019 JEE Mains cutoff (percentile) category wise -
- CRL : 89.75
- GEN-EWS : 78.21
- OBC-NCL : 74.31
- SC : 54.01
- ST : 44.33
- PwD : 0.11
So if you have cleared the cutoff as per your category then you are eligible to get a seat in NITs. With your rank of 89721 under SC category , you might not be able to get a seat in NITs.
You can go through this linl and checkout the previous years cutoff for all the NITs along with category : https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/nits-cutoff-for-top-btech-branches
Just dont get upset . Try for other colleges too to improve your chances of getting a seat. Hope that you get a good college and your choice of branch.
Good Luck !!!
Hello Aspirant.
From the above mentioned details of your academics and your JEE main rank being 89721 it's little bit harder to get admission through josaa. What I suggest you is to concentrate on the state level good colleges which are far better than some of the nits so think of it. Don't loose your hopes. You will get something better of what you've done.
Thanks
I am sorry to tell you but it is not possible for you to get any of the NITs at this rank of yours. Even through SC quota it is slightly possible. All you can do is wait for the CSAB rounds (these are special rounds after JoSAA counselling gets over. You can get a seat as some of the seat are left out in JoSAA) as only through that round you can get into any NIT or IIIT. Also, if you are from CBSE board, then your class 12th minimum percentage should be 65%, for any other board the top 20 percentile criteria holds. Else, go for private institutions. There you may get admission. Check the college predictor link once - https://engineering.careers360.com/jee-main-college-predictor
I hope this helps you. All the best!!
