Correct Answer: 144

Solution : Given, P is 3 times as efficient as Q.
Time taken by P and Q to do a job together = 36 days.
Let work done by P and Q in a day be $3x$ and $x$ units respectively.
Now, Total work = Number of days they worked $\times$ Their combined efficiency
= $36 × (3x + x)$
= $144x$ units
Now, time taken by Q to complete the work alone = $\frac{144x}{x}$ = 144 days
Hence, the correct answer is 144 days.
