Food Engineering Food engineering is the scientific, academic, and professional field that interprets and applies principles of engineering, science, and mathematics to food.
Basically the main difference is that the Food engineering concentrates on unit operation of food manufacturing, design and development of process and machineries for mass manufacturing, whereas food technology is the apex stream which covers all aspects of food starting with the physics, chemistry, biology of food science followed by engineering and technology to preserve and process foods as well as innovate new products and processes which can be mass produced.

Food technology deals with the research about food products, their production and prevention and maintaining the record of its quality whereas food engineering deals with the managing, packaging of food products , dealing with the machine require for storage, Distributing of food products and their conservation. Both are different branches however the main focus of both the branches is contributing towards different departments of food. Food engineering require various aspects like civil engineering, mechanical engineering, Industrial, electrical, etc. Food technology deals with new technology like 3d food printing.

Food Engineering is an engineering branch mostly deals with processing equipments and machineries, processing parameters and problems associated with food processing and also some technical parameters associated in the food processing.

There are such no difference between Food Technology and Engineering. Although, Food Engineering focuses more on the preservation of the food and to induce new invention in order to increase the lifetime of the Food and maintaneance of quality and Food technology invests more time to increase the Manufacturing keeping the preservation and quality intact.
