What is the difference between B.E and B.E(hons)?

Hey
They both are 8 semesters courses. But In BE course the student studies various aspects of the course in a simplified manner while BE (Hons) degree involves more intensive studying with some specialized advanced topics.
An honors degree generally requires higher academic standard.
