What is the difference between Drug R & D and Drug F & D ? Also tell me which one is the best for Pharmacologists?
Hello,
Formulation development studies determine the optimal dosage form, composition and manufacturing route is a fundamental part of pharmaceutical product development . Getting pharmaceutical formulation development right helps to optimise drug delivery performance and product stability.
Where as Research and development can be defined as any project to resolve scientific or technological uncertainty aimed at achieving an advance in science or technology. Those who are working in R&D-Pharmacy are termed as scientists with greater responsibilities and sharp knowledg e.
Both the fields are best in their own way, amd have a shining bright career ahead depending upon your interst level.
If you have a scientific mind and curiosity, then you should go for r and d
Hope this helped.
Good luck!
Dear aspirant,
Drug r&d means research and development, as the name suggest it is a creative work undertaken on a systematic basis in order to increase the stock of new molecules, synthesis menthods and modification of old process for much more effciency.
Companies like PFIZER have huge budget in billions of dollars set aside for R&D
Drug F&D
this is drug formulation and development, unlike research and development, they have to make new drugs rather than discovering useful molecules. They have to work with the new molecules made by the R&D group and if needed use them to create drugs for different all while keeping in mind the dosage and rules and regulations of certain markets like the EU and US.
Also they have to troubleshoot the pharmaceutical dosage forms.
For a pharmacologist the job of drug F&D will be better as they can easily track the effects of a drug on the body and troubleshoot the dosage problem something a drug F&D is needed to do.
