Hello Kartik,

According to analysis, your academic record are

10th - 89 Good

12 - 79 Average

Grad - 63 Might be better

IIM -A,B,C need to have 80+ in 10,12,Grad but not necessarily they select always with such scores , it just an added advantage.

If you want IIM -A,B,C i would suggest you to outperform in CAT Exam with a score of 99+ will make sure your potholes of Academic be filled, if you want only those IIM-A,B,C.

Hope it clears your doubts. All the best for your future endeavours.

Feel free to contact incase of any queries.

Thanks.

Hi karthik,

Your academic performance shows a downward slope which maybe a problem for you in final selection into IIMs. Initial calls generally depend on CAT perecntile. However, IIM A and IIM C give huge focus on 10/12/degree scorrs. Seeing 63% I doubt if you can ever get a shortlist for IIM A and IIm C.

At IIM B generally all round or co-cirricular activities are also given weightage. The chances in IIM B are also very low for you but you should target 99.5+ to have a hope at least.

All the best

Dear Kartik,

To be very honest for a call from IIM a,b,c you need to score above 99.6 at least assuming you are a engineer and general category candidate. ALso after the call the conversion depends upon GDPI performance. For XLRI you need around 95 for HR call and above 97 for BM call. THe selection in XLRI is highly possible if you have good percentile and have given good GDPI process.

All the best

I am from obc category and I am non engineer. I am doing BSC. Can you tell me now the approx required percentile so that I have good chances of converting IIM ABC and fms

In that case you can get a call at around 98 given you have good academics and moreover these cutoffs are subjective in nature for eg, IIM A calls top 100 students from each branch. If you have 99.9 also but do not fall in top 100 your chances are slim. Neverthless at this point do not think of all these and try to score as high as possible.

Depends on 2 things besides your past academics.

1) Do you fall under the Reservation category?

2) Do you have profile diversity, Basically anything except Engineering.

If yes, expect a lesser cutoff otherwise 99.99 is a must for a general Engineering Male for a chance to get a call and convert it for admission.

You can check sectional as well as reserved categories cutoff from the following link.

Hope this answers your query.

All the best.

For ABC and FMS do not expect anything below 94-95.
Even if you're called, the seats will fill up and you will end up at a very high waitlist.

Hi Kartik,

Your academics are good to be considered for the top IIM's. But CAT score also plays a major role to get shortlist from top B- schools. You have to score at least 80 percentile overall to get shortlisted from these IIM's.

Refer this link for last year cutoff.

All the best.

Hi Kartik! Your past academic records can be considered as average. As far as the IIMs and FMS are concerned, you need at least 95+ percentile in order to get shortlisted. However, there is no guarantee of shortlist with a high percentile as these institutes mostly compute the scores based on various factors and specific weightages are assigned to each parameter. Hence, it's best to focus on your preparation now rather than worrying about shortlists. All the best!
