Greetings of the day dear candidate,

Chemical Engineering and Biochemical Engineering are two different branches focused on chemistry. The difference is comparatively big between these two branches. So, I am mentioning both branches one by one.

Chemical Engineering- This field specialises in the conditions of chemical reactions and various filtration processes like distillation, filtration etc. It majorly focuses on the safety of people and the environment with the disposal of waste materials and other objects that are prone to cause pollution. The work is mostly concerned with physical processes like heating, cooling, pressure and many more physical factors.

Biochemical Engineering - It includes consideration of techniques with the involvement of manufacturing like sterilization and another cleaning. There is also specialization processes for cleaning purposes. In simple words, biochemical is like a part that combines both biological and chemical engineering.

I hope this answer helps you.

Thank you:)

Dear student,

Biochemical Engineering is a branch of Chemical Engineering. Biochemical Engineering deals with bioreactors in Waste Management, Food Processing, Pharmaceuticals etc. Where as Chemical Engineering deals with chemicals where used in products to change physical/ chemical properties of substances.

If you are interested in Biochemistry field then go for Biochemical Engineering and if you are interested in only Chemical field then go for Chemical Engineering. But Chemical Engineering has more scope than Biochemical Engineering.
