Gauhati University Facilities

The university provides an ample number of facilities to its students at the campus. Gauhati University facilities are a library, individual boys and girls hostels, gym, canteen, modern classrooms, auditorium etc. The library of the university is well stocked. Both boys and girls hostels are located within university premises. Gauhati University promotes physical fitness and thus has a modern gym at the campus. The varsity also has indoor and outdoor sports facilities. Apart from these facilities, Gauhati University facilities list also includes department wise laboratories, medical centre, wifi, IT infrastructure and transportation facility. Gauhati University aims to offer all the facilities required for the holistic development of the students.

Boys Hostel
The varsity has 12 hostels for the boys students. The boys hostels have all the basic amenities and a mess that offers nutritious meals to the students.
Girls Hostel
Gauhati University has 11 girls hostels located at the campus. All the basic facilities are available at the girls' hostels. The girls hostels also have a mess that serves food to the hostelers.
Medical/Hospital
The university has a hospital that provides basic medical aids to students and staff members.
Library
GU library has 2,07,000 books, around 35 thousand bound periodicals, around 3700 thesis, 5600 dissertations and 4500 manuscripts. The library's rich collection of study materials can be easily utilized by students and faculty members.
Sports
The university campus has 2 playgrounds for football and cricket, three basketball courts and two volleyball courts. Furthermore, the university has an indoor sports hall and a table tennis indoor hall. Students can use GU sports facilities during their free time.
I.T Infrastructure
The university has modern and updated IT infrastructure for its students. All the laboratories have the latest equipment and various areas of the camps have wifi connectivity. The university also has over 27 computer labs with the latest software and hardware.
Cafeteria
There are a total of four canteens within the university premises. They offer nutritious and delicious food and beverages at a pocket-friendly price.
Auditorium
The university has an auditorium - Birinchi Kumar Barua Auditorium and a seminar hall - Phanidhar Dutta Seminar Hall. Both the auditorium and seminar hall are air-conditioned and modern equipment. The Department of Business Administration also has a dedicated seminar hall.
Wifi
Various portions of the university campus like departments, hostel and administrative blocks have wifi connectivity.
Transport Facility
Gauhati University provides bus service to students and faculty members. The bus service is free of cost for faculty members and students are charged a nominal fare.
Gym
The campus of the varsity has two gyms, one for girls and one for boys. Established in 2006, the boys gym is of size 14 × 10 square meters. Whereas the girls gym is of size 6× 5 square meters. It was established in the year 2016.
Alumni Associations
The college has and alumni associations.
Laboratories
Various departments of the varsity have dedicated laboratories for its students. GU lab facilities are modern and updated. The labs give students the opportunity to perform experiments and gain practical experience.
Classrooms
The classrooms of the university have air conditioners and audio visual systems. Furthermore, GU classrooms are spacious and aesthetically designed.

College Infrastructure

Administrative offices ensure smooth operations and there are health services which provide student well-being. College Infrastructure

Infrastructure is good but technical equipment and facilities could be better. Computer lab present but unused. Classrooms big and clean. Library good but number of available books could be better. Good number of hostels present. Wifi available. Large number of eateries present. Washrooms clean.

what is the eligibility criteria of MSc. in Statistics under GU?... I have done my graduation in statistics as my major subject and my pass course is computer science.. So am I eligible for MSc in statistics??

Sorry to say but Guwahati University does not offer any undergraduate course in Psychology. Most of its course offered are mainly Masters course and in Bachelor's it offers BA LLB course.You can visit its website for more information.
