Hello student
Congratulations on your IAT exam rank!
With a rank of 1736 and belonging to the SC category, your chances of getting admission to an IISER (Indian Institute of Science Education and Research) are good. Here's a general idea of the admission possibilities:
- _IISER Admission*: IISERs have a separate admission channel for SC/ST/PwD candidates, with a relaxed cutoff.
- _Category-wise cutoffs*: In 2022, the cutoff ranks for SC category students were:
- IISER Berhampur: 2000-2500
- IISER Bhopal: 2200-2800
- IISER Kolkata: 1800-2300
- IISER Mohali: 1500-2000
- IISER Pune: 2000-2500
- IISER Thiruvananthapuram: 2500-3000
- _Seat availability*: IISERs have a limited number of seats reserved for SC category students.
Considering your rank and category, you have a good chance of getting admission to:
- IISER Kolkata
- IISER Mohali
- Possibly IISER Berhampur or IISER Bhopal
However, please note that:
- Cutoffs may vary from year to year.
- Admission processes and seat allotment are subject to change.
- Other factors like your preference list and availability of seats in your preferred IISERs will also influence the admission outcome.
To confirm your admission chances, I recommend:
- Checking the official IISER websites for the latest admission updates.
- Contacting the IISER admission offices for category-wise cutoffs and seat availability.
- Preparing for the counseling process and seat allotment.
No, students typically wouldn't receive bonus marks for incorrect questions in the IISER Aptitude Test (IAT) even if the question was found to be incorrect, and even if they didn't file an objection form.
The IISERs usually don't award bonus marks for incorrect questions. Their primary focus is on evaluating a candidate's understanding and performance based on the correct answers they provide.
Awarding bonus marks for incorrect questions could potentially disrupt the standardized scoring process and create an unfair advantage for some students who might have guessed the wrong answer for the incorrect question. The objection window exists to allow candidates to challenge questions they believe are incorrect. If the IISERs acknowledge a question as flawed, they might consider removing it from the evaluation process altogether. This would benefit all test-takers who attempted that question.

Hello,
B.Sc Physics aspirants must have at least cleared the 10+2 examination from a recognized Board in the Science stream and must have studied Physics as a mandatory subject at the qualifying level. Admission is merit-based most of the time, but some universities hold entrance exams for admission to BSc Physics.
Thank you.
Dear aspirant
It's quite hard to tell about the cut off marks exactly as it's varies every year depending on difficulty level of question paper, number of candidates appeared, seats availability etc.
There are total seven IISER college in India having around 1700-1800 seats.
IISER,Pune is one of the most demanded college among all of them.
In 2021, cut off ranks for Gen category in IISER college was AIR 3327 for BS (ECONOMIC SCIENCE) IISER BHOPAL.
So if your all india rank is below this in this year exam then you will have chances of getting any IISER college.
Hope this information helps
All the best
Hello,
Since the exact situation depends on the seta matrix, the quantity of applicants, and the preferences of the applicants, it is difficult to predict. In the combined IISERs, there are 1700 places, and the IISER aptitude test fills around 1300 of them.
Therefore, based on your rating, we may conclude that it is challenging to enrol in any IISER. In the final stages, there is a slim chance that you would be selected for a newer IISER such as Bhopal or any other IISER. We may rely on that to secure admission because typically a large number of students drop out after being accepted into their preferred NIT, OOT, or medical college.
Hope for best.
Thank You
Hello,
As the IISER counselling procedure is set to begin, they launch the website for registration. Choosing the JEE Advanced channel or their own aptitude exam, they update seat allocation results in the site after each round. You build a profile on the website to register and fill out your preferences, and it is on your profile that you can see if you have been offered a seat at any IISER.
Thank You
Hello,
Three channels—JEE Advanced, KVPY, and SCB—are available for applicants to the 5-year BS-MS degree programme at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research. The IISER aptitude exam must be taken by the student who wishes to apply through the SCB channel.
A candidate is only permitted to take the IISER Aptitude Test twice in their lifetime, according to the official announcement.
You can click the following link to learn more about the IISER test.
As per your query, you are not eligible because you already given your 2nd attempt.
Thank You
Dear Aspirant,
It is not easy to predict the exact cutoff and admission situation as it depends on a lot of unpredictable factors like the number of students attempting the exam, the preferences of the students and the seat matrix of the college.
There are about 1700 seats in IISERs and about 1300 are reserved for IAT Candidates and in this about 130 seats are reserved for EWS candidates.
Looking at this we can say that you have a good chance of getting into IISER Tirupati and Berhampur and a small chance of getting into IISER Mohali or Thiruvananthapuram.
Please check the link below for more details on the cutoffs.
Hope this helps.
