What Follows Panjab University Cut Off 2025

Following the announcement of the cutoffs, the PU CET UG 2025 merit list will be released. This list contains the names of qualified candidates who have obtained the required marks and rank to be admitted to a university course. The following criteria are used to assess the candidates' merit.

Panjab University Merit List 2025 – UG Programmes

  • For UG courses like B.Pharma and B.Sc. (Hons.), the following factors and weightage on it are considered:

(i) Qualifying exam– 25%

(iii) over and above the weightage of NCC, NSS.

  • For two streams combined merit list preparation (two streams are evaluated separately) of say – (i) Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry combination and (ii) Physics, Chemistry, Biology combination, the below-mentioned formula is used:

0.75*P + 0.25*Q + over and above weightage of NSS, NCC, etc. in terms of marks,

Panjab University 2025 Merit List (Tie-Breaker)

When candidates achieve the same grade point average, the Panjab University 2025 admission process is used to determine the inter-se rank. In this case, the University will normally bracket together the same marks obtained by candidates in the final merit. To determine inter-se rank in PG courses, the following guidelines are followed.

  • Candidates with a higher percentage in the qualifying exam (graduation level degree) get the advantage of a higher rank in the order of merit.

  • If candidates have scored the same marks at the graduation level as well, then their class 12th marks are evaluated and given a higher rank in the order of merit.

  • If the tie does not resolve following steps (i) and (ii), then their age is taken into consideration and the older candidate gets a higher rank in the order of merit.

PU CET Counselling

Candidates who have been shortlisted in the Panjab University 2025 merit list must physically attend the counselling session on the specified date and location.

  • On the day of the counselling, candidates must bring all original documents and a photocopy of them, as well as the online admission form.

Have a question related to Panjab University (PUCHD) ?

I got 67 marks in neet 2025....can I take drop by these marks and pu college will take admission by these marks

A drop year can be a viable strategy if you are determined to pursue an MBBS and can significantly improve your preparation. However, it requires dedication and a realistic assessment of your potential for improvement. Some experts suggest that while improvement is possible, a significant jump in score might be challenging to achieve, potentially taking more than one year,

If you are struggling to achieve a competitive NEET score, consider alternative medical careers like paramedical fields or exploring other undergraduate programs at PU that don't require NEET.

In conclusion: A drop year can be a viable option for improving your NEET score, but it requires significant effort and a realistic assessment of your capabilities. If you are determined to pursue MBBS, you should focus on improving your NEET preparation, but also explore alternative options and the specific requirements of PU.

i passed my 2nd pu this year in 2025 with less marks than i expected but i didn't give any supplement exams becoz i was concentrating on NEET now that turned out to be a disaster this year,i'm planing to join the clg again as 2nd puc repeater and improve my kcet ranking too, can u sugguest me now?

Hello Srusti,

If you are repeating 2nd PUC, focusing on both improving on board marks and KCET rank, don't be disappointed. In fact, repeating a year could add long term value and give you a better chance of getting into your preferred course or college. Remember to be consistent, prepare NCERT well, and practice the past papers regularly. Also remember to do board and KCET/NEET preparation at the same time. Remember, one disappointment cannot change your future, you will get another opportunity and you can comeback stronger.

All the best!
