The infrastructure of our college is quite good. We also get access to Wi-Fi and internet, tha classrooms are also mostly clean. The good thing is that we also get proper access to the library, which is very important for the law students. The hostels can be made much better same goes for the food, but we get much access to sport and games.
The faculty of this college is not that appreciable. The teachers don't seem very much active in their teaching, it can be improvise, though we get 5-6 lectures in a week regarding our course. But the exams are quite good, the questions asked are quite relevant and practical based, which is a good thing.
About 70% of the students got placements, with the highest package at 7 LPA, the lowest at 3 LPA, and an average of 4.5 LPA. Top recruiters include Biocon, Dr. Reddy's, and Novaris. Around 40% of students secured internships at companies like Cipla. Top roles like R&D associate and lab technician are common
Everything is good.
Calcutta University offers good facilities for students, including well-equipped labs, reliable Wi-Fi, spacious classrooms, and a vast library. The hostel is decent, with clean rooms. The mess food is satisfactory, and the canteen offers a variety of options. Medical facilities are available and there are options for sports and games as well.
Faculty members are great; they have real-time experience in the field. All professors are knowledgeable in their own field and very friendly, which helps in the curriculum. You can access them; they will provide help anyhow. Overall, there is good college faculty and you can join in to have a great experience.
In general, JMC students don't get placed after graduation; they go to higher education, like masters. In master's, they get help from faculty members. But if you want to work, you will get less amount in income but you will get good experience and real-time knowledge. The average package is 300000-400000.
Meet with some amazing people.
The University which has an unbeatable reputation. The infrastructure is good. It is situated in Kolkata, West Bengal. The classrooms have White Boards, there is a canteen, and a library which has a good collection of books. Best college to pursue higher studies in field of commerce
It is well known that the academics of Calcutta University is said to be the most difficult one. The quality of academics is really rich and focuses on history and literature. The academic structure is organized and relevant to the industry.
The placement structure of the college is really good. Mostly reputed companies come here for hiring. companies like TCS, Wipro, Amazon etc come for placements. The college provide with immense knowledge that most students graduated from here open their own start-ups.
It is a commendable university. Worth all your money spent here.
Campus life is good. Many extra curricular activities are conducted.
College infrastructure is good.Well maintained classrooms with Laboratory facilities,Library,Canteen and practical fields are available.Wifi facilities and smart boards are not available. Water cooler are also available. Small gardens, ponds and shady pathway are observed.
Academically it’s good. Timely class and practicals are conducted.I’m currently pursuing Masters’ in Agriculture,Major in Seed science and technology. It’s a well known government university and offers the course at cheaper fees.Teachers are very helpful and communicative.
Placement facility is almost inactive. No placement action is taken as far i know and from the senior also.I have no idea about any placement record till now. It’s a serious concern and University needs to look into it and take necessary measures.
It’s a value for money for me for it’s cheaper semester fees of around ₹3-4K per semester.
Campus life is quite good. The best part is the quiteness and pleasant eye-sooting nature inside the campus. The location is also good . Transport facilities are easily accessible.
University of Calcutta situated in West Bengal.Theres classrooms with smart boards, audio visual boards with projector.Campus area is clean.Hostels are good or bad we can survive.mess food is also good.
I have completed my doctorate of philosophy in library science from qualifying University entrance test.I am also net qualified that is known as National eligibility test for admission in PhD.Fir research scholar there was a library.
There is no Placement for doctorate students.placements support and internship was available for only those who pursue masters or bachelor's from that University. We are only eligible for applied for assistant professor in outside like off campus.
All the professors are amazing.
The infrastructure at this university is commendable, with unwavering support from both faculty members and staff. The campus boasts essential facilities, including a well-stocked library, labs, and well maintained classrooms. Even the canteen facilities contribute to the overall positive environment. Undoubtedly, this campus stands out as the premier choice within Calcutta University for those aspiring to pursue higher studies in economics.
The faculty members bring considerable expertise and offer robust support. The academic structure is well organised and professors are truly remarkable. The quality of teaching is good and also the curriculum is relevant and make us job ready.
Overall the placement scenario is good. The overall placement scenario is promising, as companies typically commence recruitment from the 3rd semester and the process extends through the conclusion of the 4th semester. Diverse sectors, including banking, business and data analytics, market research, teaching, and NGOs, actively participate in the recruitment drives, providing students with a range of opportunities to explore and pursue.
It's budget friendly with low fees, making it a great value for money.
Good
University of Calcutta, Kolkata has its own set of infrastructural facilities to offer to its students. CU, Kolkata's library houses a vast amount of more than 10 lakh books. Well-equipped Conference hall and Seminar hall.
Not much industry visits, Text book based lectures along with case study discussions. Well-stocked library, Teachers help students with resources. The teaching quality of the teachers is very good here, and the teachers are very helpful.
Reputed companies like TCS, Concentrix, Wipro, ICICI Bank, Amazon, etc., have visited our college and offered a secure and good job to almost every student and many students started their own start-ups, Higher in core jobs
Its cost me around 4000+ examination fee separately for 2 year course.
The University of Calcutta is one of the best government-aided universities in India, with the best faculty members, where students can gather knowledge regarding their subjects.
At the heart of Kolkata, there is a very good environment, good faculty and laboratories, quite good placement, excellent alumni networks, and a sports department.
Very big campus but average infrastructure. The classroom that was allocated to us for sociology masters was below average. It was a small, shabby room without any windows. Canteen food was not tasty and the washroom was pathetic.
Academics was good but very bulky syllabus. Few teachers taught really well but few were really boring. Overall, I felt the syllabus should have been more interesting. But I enjoyed the research work very much.
Placement was offered but those were not promising. Various companies came with internships and job offers but none offered good package. Also there was an absence of career guidance. It is really difficult to explore career paths in our own.
Yes.
Good.
Good
Calcutta university as compared to other government universities has a good library and good canteen. CU gives you proper seminars with great academicians. Yes, being a government college, benches are a bit unclean and cleaning doesn't happen often but as per regularity of classes, you wont have any complaints.
CU offers great classes. Professors are outstanding and would give you the best support ever. Classes are done with slide shows with projectors and classes are very interactive. The university has a big and great library.
Yes Calcutta University provides placement opportunity. MBA or such streams get decent placements. Arts stream students are also offered with few placement options. Even I belonging to a arts background bagged a bajaj allianz job
Extremely less fee. Everyone can afford
There is nothing exciting but nothing to regret about either
The infrastructure is good but could be improved. With the fees that they take, they should have air conditioned classrooms which they don't. Maintenance of college properties is an issue- regular cleaning is not done for the classrooms and washrooms. The good thing though, is the canteen which provides a wide variety of food options at affordable prices, and they have smart classrooms, with LED projectors which is also helpful.
I am studying English Honours and the faculty in the college is very student friendly. The curriculum follows the CBCS module and the syllabus is interesting and well updated. What I study doesn't make me entirely job-ready, but it gives a good opportunity to learn the things that I am interested in and which can be applied later for further studies or research.
The placement is good. However personally, my course isn't very placement oriented because students usually go for their masters instead of direct jobs. But for the other departments like Bcom or Engineering, the placement rate is high.
