The Legislative Council of India passed an Act in 1857 that founded the University of Madras (UOM), Chennai. Co-ed in nature, it is a state university. Yes madras University has a huge campus, and surprisingly all the classes have lights and fans which is surprising. It has mediocre canteen facilities, the campus is moderately clean but it could be cleaner. Parking facility is available for staff as well students.
