Al-Azhar College of Engineering and Technology (AACET), located in the mountainous region of Idukki, Kerala, offers its students a wide variety of engineering courses. It is an AICTE-approved institution connected with the concerned university and runs a rigorous admission process to screen-out qualified candidates in its various undergraduate and diploma courses in different fields of engineering.
Through the Kerala Engineering Architecture & Medical (KEAM) examination, applicants mostly enter for B.Tech courses at AACET. This state-level entrance test is compulsory for students seeking admission to engineering courses in the college.
Candidates should have completed their 10+2 education with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics to get admission for the B.Tech programs. The college accommodates many branches in engineering, such as Computer Science and Engineering: Mechanical Engineering; Civil Engineering; Electronics and Communication Engineering; and Automobile Engineering.
Application Process
The Al-Azhar College of Engineering and Technology dissertation process generally tries to include these steps:
1. KEAM Registration; candidates must register for the KEAM exam run by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE), Kerala.
2. KEAM Examination; appear for the KEAM exam on the dates scheduled (April 24-28, 2025, for the upcoming academic year).
3. After the CEE announcement of results, all applicants will wait for the KEAM results to be out.
4. Centralized allotment process (CAP) of the CEE on engineering admissions to Kerala colleges should be taken part in.
5. Application specific to college: if needed, complete the AACET-specific application form (refer to college website).
6. Submission of required documents:
7. Students taking admission are required to confirm reservation by making fee payment and completing formalities at AACET if assigned a seat through CAP or selected by the college.
8. Orientation: Attend the orientation activities that are being organized by the college itself to orient users with the academic and campus procedures.
Degree wise Admission Processes
B.Tech: B.Tech admissions in AACET are largely dependent on the KEAM rank. A number of B.Tech courses are provided under the college, with specialties that include Computer Science and Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Automobile Engineering, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Cyber Security, and Biomedical Engineering. The number of seats ranges from 30 to 60, depending on the course.
Diploma: In addition to B.Tech offerings, AACET also offers diploma courses in different divisions of engineering, such as Automobile Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Cyber Forensics, and Information Security. The process of admission into diploma courses is likely to differ from that of B.Tech.
