Arumugam Pillai Seethai Ammal College, Madurai Admission Process

Arumugam Pillai Seethai Ammal College (APSAC), Madurai, is a highly reputed college under the affiliation of Madurai Kamaraj University and accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). APSAC provides an array of undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral courses in a variety of subjects. The college has a merit-based admission procedure for all of its courses to provide equal opportunity to deserving candidates.

For undergraduate admission, the candidates should have passed 10+2 from a recognized board. The college takes into account the marks scored in the qualifying examination for admission. For postgraduate courses, a bachelor's degree in the same field is needed. Doctoral courses have special eligibility criteria, such as a master's degree in the same field.

Application Process

Arumugam Pillai Seethai Ammal College has a simple application process with these steps:

1. Notification: The college provides admission notices via its website, local dailies, as well as other media sources.

2. Application Form: One can download the application form from the official website get the same from the college office.

3. Form Filling: The applicants need to fill up the form with care, submitting all necessary personal and academic information.

4. Document Submission: Along with the filled application form, candidates have to submit the following documents:

Degree wise Admission Process

B.A. Programs:
APSAC provides B.A. courses in English Literature, History, and Economics, each having 60 seats. The entry is according to the marks scored in the 10+2 examination, keeping an eye on the concerned subjects. The B.A. Economics course is also provided in Tamil medium.

B.Sc. Courses:
The college runs B.Sc. courses in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Zoology, and Computer Science each with 40 seats. There is merit-based admission based on the marks secured in science subject at the 10+2 exam. B.Sc. Information Technology and B.Sc. Physical Education are also being run as self-financed programmes.

B.Com. and BBA:
APSAC offers B.Com. and BBA courses, with 60 seats in the BBA course. Admission is on the total merit of the 10+2 examination, with added preference given to commerce or business stream students.

M.A. and M.Sc. Courses:
Postgraduate courses are M.A. Economics and English (self-financed) and M.Sc. in Mathematics and Computer Science (self-financed). The seats available for M.A. Economics are 24 and for M.Sc. Mathematics are 20. Admission is through marks secured in the respective bachelor's degree.

M.Phil. and Ph.D. Courses:
APSAC has M.Phil. courses in Economics, Commerce, and English, while it has Ph.D. courses in Economics, English, Mathematics, Commerce, and Business Administration. The admission to these research programmes is based on a selection process that could include an entrance test and/or interview, depending upon the specialisation, and assessment of the candidate's earlier academic record.

Vocational and Diploma Programmes:
The college provides B.Voc. in Software Development and Banking and Financial Services, as well as different diplomas and PG diplomas. Admission into the above courses is also based on merit, as per the corresponding qualifying examination score.
