Aryabhatta School of Earth Sciences, Silchar Facilities Details: Hostel, Campus, Infrastructure, Library, Canteen

The college is proud of its own Central Library which was initiated in the month of December 2007. Presently, the Library is equipped with 13,571 books including textbooks and reference books commonly needed by the students, scholars, and faculties of the University Campus. All books are properly Classified through Dewey Decimal Classification Scheme(DDC). The basic facilities offered by the Library are a reading facility, borrowing, Open Access System, Photocopying, etc. Altogether 23 Journals are being subscribed by the library covering all departments and 8 Magazines along with 15 Newspapers are available to the readers. E-Journals are being accessed through DELNET Consortium and UGC-INFONET Consortium.  Further, with the purpose of fully automating the Central Library, Koha Open Source Software is being utilized for Accessioning and Circulation purposes. 

The college has a boy’s hostel facility which provides good hostel accommodation for the students. There are at present nine hostels at the university campus. The hostels are: four for boys students having approximately 749 single and shared room accommodation. The Hostels are furnished with basic facilities, Hostel seats are limited and every student may not get the seat in hostel. The availability of seats depends upon the vacancy in the Hostel. A separate Booklet Hostel Borders & conduct Rules of the Hostel is also available.

The college has a girl's hostel facility which provides good hostel accommodation for the students. There are at present nine hostels at the university campus. The hostels are five for girls students having approximately 749 single and shared room accommodation. The Hostels are furnished with basic facilities, Hostel seats are limited and every student may not get the seat in hostel. The availability of seats depends upon the vacancy in the Hostel. A separate Booklet Hostel Borders & conduct Rules of the Hostel is also available.

The college has a Wi-Fi facility for the students and staff. Wi-Fi and broadband internet connectivity of the entire campus Completed.

The college has a departmental based laboratory facility for the students.

The college has an excellent IT Infrastructure facility for the students. The campus-wide University network consists of state of the art networking equipment capable of providing high bandwidth with 1 Gbps fiber backbones at the distribution level to provide connectivity to all Faculties, Departments and Centres at the Assam University Silchar (Main campus) & Assam University Diphu Campus (Second campus).

The college has good networking for the alumni association.

The college has a Gym facility for the students. A well equipped Gymnasium exists for both ladies and gents. Interested students, faculty, staff members can enroll their name for availing facilities in the Gymnasium.

The college has sports facilities for all students. Since its inception in 1994, games and sports have been one of the important foci of Assam University’s endeavor to facilitate the all-round development of student’s physical and mental abilities. Every year an Annual Social Meet is organized in the University where along with cultural activities, indoor and outdoor sports are held.

The college has a canteen facility for staff and students.

The college has a guest house/waiting room facilities for visiting faculty and student family members.

The Health Centre is supported by two Ambulances which provide 24-hour services. The University Health Centre, managed by experienced Medical personnel including Lady Medical Officer, supported by paramedical staff. The center caters to the medical needs of the University community. The University has introduced Medical Insurance to each student. Besides these, health camps are frequently organized in the campus with specialist doctors from Silchar Medical College.

The college has the Banks/ATM facilities for all students.

The college has eleven buses are also available for the benefit of the students. There are also three buses for the staff members of the University Communicating between Silchar and University Campus.

The college has an auditorium facility for events and seminars.
