Apply for Online MBA from Chitkara University
The BBA Department of Asutosh is way different than any other courses of the college. It has fully air conditioned rooms and clean classes. There is a separate library for BBA course students which has all the books needed during the curriculum.
Some of the teachers of the faculty are really good but some are very course oriented and do not indulge into extra practical knowledge session. Being a government college it has a little exemption from curriculum and studies than the other private colleges yet one cannot simply score good without studying and attending the classes regularly. The course is under Calcutta University and follows CBCS system.
In my year the seniors have not received any placement or any campassing although there are few internship chances during second and third year. I will update the review if any company comes for campassing or any student gets a job from the placement cell.
Although it is a government college yet the BBA Department runs on the students fees so the course cost around 50k per year which is at par to some private colleges. The course is valuable and the college is has a really good record in academics.
The seniors in the college are really good. The teachers are very reachable and answer to every query. Although the college has limited events for management yet we can participate in any management fest and the seniors and teachers really help for preparation.
The department provided us with all the necessary study material, lab equipment and guidance to excel at the yearly exams. The lab was better than most I have seen since then, we had a proper hands-on electronic design experience which I heard was quite missing in other departments providing the same course.
The new curriculum has further improved and has a similar get up to the engineering course of the alias, however, this in turn would make students opt more towards research rather than the technical subject it is. The professors have always guided us with a smile and it has been a rather enlightening journey.
Most of the students ended up shifting into IT, BPOs and Banking. The former can be viable as some companies do come for interviews but students generally go for a Masters before selecting a job. Some people even study at the college which offers upsc, psc courses.
As it is an unsponsored course at this college, the fees are alot. However, as good as the lab and steady funding for books and instruments, you will not regret paying some money to study here.
I think apart from studies, college is a time to learn, not only how many books you must study but also how to study effectively. But college is about making life long friendships, apart from the books please have a good time. The course load is pretty heavy but that doesnt mean you have to study all the time. Take some time out and interact with people. Asutosh has a heartbeat, by that I mean the college grounds, the teashops and especially the conversations in and around.
Asutosh is really clean and hygienic. They have free WiFi, libraries, laboratories etc. The WiFi is fast and the bathrooms are really clean. The living places are nice and the people are friendly. Really good.
I am studying BA. I've always loved arts. The professors are amazing at what they do. They really help you understand and love what you study. This college is amazing and I'm glad I decided to study here.
My college is very supportive and the placement was actually quite easy. Not stressful at all. If I had a problem, the people in the office would help me. Which was amazing. And the seniors would help me if I struggled with something.
I am totally getting my money's worth.
It's a very friendly place. Somewhere you can be yourself without anyone judging you.
I love Asutosh. Probably one of the best college in Kolkata.
when it comes to infrastructure Asutosh college ranks high up in the list. classrooms are spacious and well equipped with audio systems. there are plenty of water purifiers present in each flooring to provide students with fresh clean clean water. washrooms are clean and regular maintenance is carried out for proper use. laboratories are well equipped with state of the art facilities. WiFi is well distributed across the campus.
academically Asutosh college holds a name since its time of inception. being well equipped with wonderful faculty members, it holds a reputation well established when it comes to academics. curriculum is according to the latest UGC norms and updated regularly. teaching is not only confined through books, as professors look forward to mentor the students in global knowledge sphere. henceforth, apart from academics, students are prepared for further endeavors as well.
being a government degree college placement for arts section was not upto the mark. rather it prepares us for further studies rather than getting along the lines of career after graduation. however there are companies which do visit the college, providing jobs for desk operations and client handling.
perks of being a government college the annual fees are meager. a few thousands to be precise. which makes it affordable to all sections of people. moreover scholarships of various kinds provides much more economical help to students hailing from very poor economical background. the education provided in return is exceptionally good and indeed the value for money ranks pretty high.
apart from academics, there are events throughout the year which indulges students into various activities. the cultural aspects of the students are explored out as well as the conduct of annual sports and football tourneys provide opportunities for students to indulge into physical activities as well. a balanced curriculum between education and extra co-curricular activities helps in getting the best out of a student.
The infrastructure of Asutosh College is nice but could do with an improvement, especially the bathrooms and classrooms. The laboratories are pretty decent and well equipped. The food is okay, but could do with an improvement as well. The football team is great and organizes football tournaments regularly. There is wifi but no smart boards. The wifi fails at times.
I studied B. A honors in English in Asutosh as I've a deep interest in language. The quality is very good and the teachers put in a lot of hard work and make the students ready for next levels of education. The curriculum has just been updated, but the batch of 2019 had to study in the old syllabus. The syllabus ended with the 2019 batch, after a 16 year period. The degree of B. A fetches not many high paying jobs so further studies are advised.
There hasn't been a lot od placements from the English department. As no company accepts B. A graduates. Most students have had to pursue other courses like MBA or apply for jobs. And the ones who wanted to continued studying had to do post graduate. There isn't sufficient data about pay scale or aaverage salary.
The yearly fees was around 3.5k including miscellaneous charges. This is a pretty decent rate for an undergraduate degree so the value for money is definitely there. It doesn't charge too much and neither does it have too many hidden costs. So it's a pocket friendly college.
I have not seen much co curricular activities in the college in the 3 years spent there. There was a common room where people engaged in indoor games and an annual football tournament. The college office has a lot of staff and people are helpful. It's situated at Hazra More and is easily accessible. There are fire extinguishers and wide stair cases to handle emergencies.
The college needs to improve its infrastructure, and co curricular activities and recreational activities for students.

Hope this helps.
Honestly if you consider dear, in case of BA courses colleges do not provide official placements. However you can sit for off campus interviews and get a good job, Most often this college will give you a good opportunity to do internships that can provide you jobs in future.
Ashutosh College is indeed a very good option, where you will gather profound knowledge from experienced faculties.
Good luck!!
See if you want to learn the thing then you can go for it. But don't keep expectation of placements etc as you know in such general degree colleges usually there aren't such facilities or proper facilities. So I would recommend you if you are interested in it then go for some other institution which offers you a proper placement cell.
Although if you learn the thing properly then you can earn by freelancing and on getting good experience you can go for corporates as well. But this will be time consuming at least 1-2 years. So if you want to get a job after completion of your course then try to pursue it from some place else.
I hope you got my point. All the very best for your future endeavors!
