Berhampore Polytechnic College has been established in the year 2016, but it has already emerged as one of the promising technical institutions situated in the Murshidabad district of West Bengal. This is a co-educational institution, and it provides courses related to engineering on a diploma level. The college lies in a compact area of 2 acres, but this college has emerged as a brand name for quality technical education. This AICTE approved college has a current strength of 512 students, along with 41 dedicated faculties for them. Diploma courses in this college are five in number and designed to make the students industry relevant in terms of their skills and knowledge.

Berhampore Polytechnic College boasts of all-rounded learning environment and different facilities that are provided for the academic and personal growth of students. The library is well-stacked to provide the learners with a rich learning resource base. Laboratories are well-established, duly maintained, and equipped to help students in their practical learning. Resources within them are well-supplied by what is relevant for each department. There is a health center within the campus, which provides first-aid and medical help to learners on a 24-hour basis. Physical development is taken care of by facilities available in the form of sports and a gymnasium. The institute has separate hostel facilities for boys and girls, which provides comfortable living conditions for students coming from out-of-town places. Berhampore Polytechnic College has a total of five full-time diploma courses, and all these different programs are regular in nature. The sanctioned intake capacity of the institution is 300, and each of the programs can take in 60 students. Admission into Berhampore Polytechnic College is through the West Bengal State Council of Technical and Vocational Education and Skill Development. Admission to the college is made based on entrance exam conducted by the state board for polytechnics, referred to as the Joint Entrance Examination for Polytechnics West Bengal. It is more or less like a basic entrance test to get admission to any of the diploma courses in the polytechnics of West Bengal. It is carried out through the entrance examination conducted by the council and prepares merit lists based on the performance of the candidates.
