IEM Kolkata Admission Process

Institute of Engineering and Management (IEM), Kolkata offers admission to undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. IEM Kolkata BTech admission is based on Institute of Engineering and Management Joint Entrance Exam (IEMJEE) conducted by University of Engineering & Management (UEM). Other than IEMJEE, the selection of candidates for the IEM Kolkata BTech course is done through JEE Main.

For IEM Kolkata MBA admission, the selection is done on the basis of scores in the IEMJEE/ CAT/ MAT/ State level MBA Entrance Exam. Candidates have to appear for WB JECA conducted by the West Bengal Joint Entrance Board (WBJEEB) to be eligible for IEM Kolkata MCA admission. IEM Kolkata BTech Admission Process 2025

For admission to the BTech course, candidates need to meet the IEM Kolkata BTech eligibility criteria.
Apply and appear for Institute of Engineering and Management Joint Entrance Exam (IEMJEE) conducted by University of Engineering & Management (UEM).
However, other than IEMJEE the selection for BTech is done through JEE Main.
Candidates who qualify entrance exam will be eligible to participate in the IEMJEE counselling process.
During the IEMJEE counselling process, candidates have to fill the choice of course of their interest.
Later, candidates need to get their documents verified and pay the course fees.

IEM Kolkata Admission Process 2025: BBA/ BCA

For admission to the BBA and BCA course, candidates need to meet the IEM Kolkata eligibility criteria.
Then, candidates have to select the Institute of Engineering and Management, Kolkata as their choice of courses at the official website.
Submit all the required documents and upload them on the management portal of the institute.
Lastly, the candidates need to get their documents verified and pay the course fees.

IEM Kolkata PG Admissions 2025

IEM Kolkata Admission Process 2025: MTech/MSc

Candidates will have to meet the IEM Kolkata eligibility criteria in order to be admitted to the programme.
Next, candidates must choose the Institute of Engineering and Management, Kolkata as their course of study on the official website.
Later, students must upload the necessary paperwork to the college's management site.
Finally, the candidates must pay the course fee and get their documents verified.

IEM Kolkata MCA Admission Process 2025

First, candidates have to meet the IEM Kolkata MCA eligibility criteria for admission to the MCA course.
Appear for WB JECA, conducted by West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB).
After the declaration of the WB JECA result, qualified candidates have to appear for WB JECA counselling and give preference to IEM Kolkata.

Quality of teaching is more or less average. Curriculum - Regularly updated based on the most recent and relevant syllabi. Throw of Speech- Poor to average throw of speech as the teachers are more often late to the class and with stipulated time period and short semester time their teaching just doesn't fit the cup.

Is IEM required mathamatics for bca?

Yes, mathematics is required for BCA . To be eligible for BCA , candidates must have passed class 12th with at least 60% marks with English and mathematics/ computer science/ computer applications/information practice/ statistics/ basic science/ Business economics with business mathematics/ Business mathematics as a subject in qualifying examination.

The admission is based on the entrance exam score.

Well in 1st round of counselling I got Nsec , cse branch my rank is 11K , shall I join it or wait for other rounds for higher preference like IEM , Heritage, Techno main saltlake, Kgec , Jgec , in all I gave cse/IT/ece preference????

To get a clearer picture, let us consider both the cases :

Joining NSEC Now:
- You have secured a seat in CSE, which is a preferred branch.
- If you are okay with NSEC's reputation, placements, and facilities, it can be a safe option.
Waiting for Other Rounds:
- You may get a chance in higher preference colleges with better reputations and placement records.
- There is a risk involved; if you wait and don't get a better option, you might miss out on NSEC as well.

Now based on your situation, my recommendations are :-

Research Thoroughly: Look at the latest placement records, campus facilities, and faculty of NSEC and compare them with your higher preference colleges.
Counselling Trends: Check previous years' counselling trends to gauge the likelihood of getting a seat in the next rounds at your preferred colleges.
Consult with Seniors/Alumni: Talk to current students or alumni of NSEC and your preferred colleges to get a real-world perspective on academics, placements, and campus life.

Based on your research and personal preferences, make an informed decision. If you are confident about getting a seat in one of your higher preference colleges in the next rounds, it might be worth waiting. Otherwise, securing a seat in CSE at NSEC could be a prudent choice.
