Bharat Institute of Technology, Ibrahimpatnam (BIT) is a renowned college, providing a range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses in pharmaceutical sciences. Admission to BIT is conducted to select the best-suited candidates on the basis of entrance tests followed by merit selection. BIT is accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and also approved by the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), which implies quality education in pharmacy.
The admission process of BIT usually follows the academic year, which normally starts in August-September. For undergraduate courses, the main entrance test is the Telangana State Engineering Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test (TS EAMCET). The Government of Telangana administers this test, which is the entrance for admission to B.Pharma and Pharm.D courses at BIT. The TS EAMCET is generally held in May, and the results are declared in June.
Eligibility requirements are program-specific. Candidates should have done 10+2 with Mathematics/Biology, Chemistry, and Physics for B.Pharma and Pharm.D. Application Process
Application procedure for Bharat Institute of Technology, Ibrahimpatnam differs depending on the course:
For B.Pharma and Pharm.D courses:
1. Register and sit for TS EAMCET.
2. After results are declared, apply through the TS EAMCET counseling process.
3. Choose BIT and the course of your preference during counseling.
4. In case given a seat, report to BIT for document verification and admission procedures.
For M.Pharma courses:
1. Sit for GPAT or TS PGECET.
2. Get registered in web-based counseling as notified by the state government.
3. Choose BIT and preferred M.Pharma specialization during counseling.
4. If selected, undergo the admission procedure at BIT.
Degree wise Admission Process
B.Pharma: The selection to the 4-year B.Pharma program at BIT depends on the rank in TS EAMCET. The institution has an intake of 60 students approved for this course. The applicants must have a pass in 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology as compulsory subjects.
M.Pharma: Three M.Pharma courses are available in BIT:
1. M.Pharma Pharmacology (15 seats)
2. M.Pharma Pharmaceutics (15 seats)
3. M.Pharma Hospital and Clinical Pharmacy (24 seats)
Selection is on the basis of GPAT scores, followed by TS PGECET ranks for the rest of the seats. The candidates should be in possession of a B.Pharma degree from any recognized university. Admission is done through web-based counseling.
Pharm.D: It is a 6-year course with 30 students. Admission is based on TS EAMCET. The criteria are 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Mathematics.
Pharm.D Post Baccalaureate: This course has an intake of 10 students and also accepts TS EAMCET for admissions. It is meant for applicants who already possess a B.Pharma degree.
