Bishop Abraham Memorial College, Thuruthicad Facilities Details: Hostel, Campus, Infrastructure, Library, Canteen

The library is situated in the middle of the college campus. It accommodates books, international and national journals, newspapers, and magazines for the benefit of the students. The library functions with the LIBSOFT software system with a barcode scanning facility. The documents in the library are bar-coded for circulation purposes.

The open-access system is followed in the library. The library also has OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue) to provide details of its resources. Users can search for details about books, periodicals, CDs, a question bank, Compliment books, periodical compact disks, floppy disks, and audio cassettes within the library using this facility.

The college has sports facilities for all students.

The college has two computer labs with more than forty computers in each lab. A computer facility is also provided in the library with Internet connections. All the departments are having computers with Internet facilities. The wireless network is available on the entire campus.

The college has a canteen facility for staff and students. The objective of the Canteen is to provide the staff and students with quality meals prepared under proper sanitary conditions with unadulterated ingredients assuring food safety and reducing the risk of foodborne illness. From the very beginning of the College, the College Canteen has been functioning efficiently. The canteen is located inside the College Campus.

The college has an auditorium facility for events and seminars Two full-fledged seminar halls with LCD Projector, and smartboard along with a visualizer, and can accommodate 150 persons.

The college has a good networking for the alumni association.

The college has a departmental based laboratory facility for the students.

The College has Students and faculty who are enabled to access the internet after regular working hours using the campus-wide WIFI network.

The College Hostel for women provides a safe and comfortable stay and offers healthy food with moderate fees. The hostel provides accommodation primarily to our students from places far away to commute daily. The hostel is situated in the campus offering a peaceful and rural atmosphere.

The hostel can accommodate 80 students in two blocks. The hostel premises are under 24 hours of camera surveillance. Common facilities include a prayer room, TV room, reading room, and visitor’s room. Free WIFI internet connection is available in the hostel. The Hostel Mess provides wholesome and healthy food both vegetarian and non-vegetarian.

The College has a Cooperative store that provides books and writing materials at subsidized prices. The store also provides a photocopying facility and is well utilized by the students and the staff.

The college is in a rural area and does not have much public transport availability. B A M College bus offers multiple trips to the nearby towns every morning and evening.  A KSRTC service from Thiruvalla to Mallappally is routed via the college in the morning and a return service is routed via the college in the evening.
