Coimbatore Medical College (CMC), a famous government medical college, is located in Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu. It provides a range of medicine courses, with admission a rigorous and complicated affair, where the best and most deserving are selected from every nook of the country.

Usually, admission to CMC begins around May-June for the new academic session beginning August-September. The institute entertains applications based chiefly on national-level entrance examinations depending on the program. Degree-wise admission Process

MBBS: Under 200 MBBS seats available at Coimbatore Medical College, the candidate needs to qualify the NEET-UGexam for MBBS admission. Eligible candidates have to pass 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.

MD/MS: The CMC offers many MD and MS programs such as General Medicine, General Surgery, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Anaesthesiology, Paediatrics, Orthopaedics, Pathology, Radiodiagnosis, Ophthalmology, ENT, etc. Admission is based on the NEET-PG score. Seats for admission range from 2 to 19 for any one specialization.

M.Ch.: Super Specialty institutes include M.Ch. in Neurosurgery (4 seats) and Paediatric Surgery (4 seats), Plastic Surgery (2 seats), and Surgical Oncology (1 seat). Admission based on performance in NEET-PG.

DM: CMC offers Cardiology, Neurology, Gastroenterology, and Medical Oncology DM programs. All programs have 4 seats, except for Medical Oncology with 1 seat. Admissions will be done through NEET-PG.
