College of Dairy Science and Technology, Mannuthi, Thrissur Admission 2025: Dates, Registration, Fees, Eligibility

The College of Dairy Science and Technology (CDST) Mannuthi, Thrissur, is a constituent college of Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University. Recently, CDST has developed into one of the best centres for dairy education with both undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in dairy science and technology. The admission procedure at CDST aims at bringing in the highest quality candidates for its various programs. For admissions at undergraduate level, CDST considers the Kerala Engineering Architecture & Medical Examination (KEAM) for shortlisting candidates directly. KEAM examination is to be conducted annually by the Government of Kerala, normally, in April. This year's KEAM is scheduled from April 24 to 28, 2025, in online mode. This examination is the major gateway to the B.Tech Dairy Technology Program of CDST.

Criteria for eligibility for B.Tech Dairy Technology is passing the 10+2 or equivalent examination, with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects. Besides being eligible according to the minimum marks requirement specified by the Government of Kerala and CDST, the exact cut-off marks keep varying year by year with competition as well as the seats available. For the postgraduate programs (M.Tech in Dairy Microbiology, Dairy Chemistry, and Dairy Technology), admission is through a common entrance test conducted by CDST. Apart from that, the institution fills in seats through the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) PG entrance examination.

Application Process

Mode of Application for CDST is different for different programs:

For B.Tech Dairy Technology:

1. Register for the KEAM examination at the official KEAM website.
2. Fill out the KEAM application form mentioning both personal and educational details.
3. Pay the required application fee as notified by the KEAM authorities.
4. Take the KEAM examination on the specified days (April 24-28, 2025).
5. After result declaration, eligible candidates must participate in the centralized allotment conducted by the Kerala government.
6. In case of allotment to CDST, report at the college for document verification and admission formalities.

For M.Tech Programs (Dairy Microbiology, Dairy Chemistry, Dairy Technology):

1. For University Entrance:

• Log onto the official website of Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University.
• Complete the applicable M.Tech application form for a designated specialization.
• Pay the application fee as mandated by the university.
• Attend the entrance examination as scheduled by the university.
• Shortlisted candidates are then called for counseling seat allocation.

2. For ICAR PG Entrance:

• Register for the ICAR AIEEA (PG) through the official ICAR website.
• Fill out the application form together with the necessary fee payment.
• Take the ICAR AIEEA (PG) examination.
• Qualified candidates are then involved in an ICAR counseling process.
• Should he/she be allotted a seat at CDST, he/she will report in the college for admission formalities.

3. For Senior Residency Program (one seat per M.Tech course): Applicants may contact the CDST admission office to inquire about specific application procedures and eligibility criteria for this scheme.

Degree wise Admission Process

B.Tech Dairy Technology: The course duration is four years in which an intake of 60 students is permitted. Admission is on the basis of merit in the KEAM examination. The sole basis of eligibility to this course is through the results of the Common Engineering Entrance Examination, which is held by the Government of Kerala.

M.Tech Dairy Microbiology: Admission into this postgraduate degree is made through the entrance exam conducted by the Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University and the ICAR PG entrance exam; this course reserves one seat under the Senior Residency program.

M.Tech Dairy Chemistry: As with the Dairy Microbiology program, admissions occur through the entrance exam of the university and the ICAR PG entrance. The program also reserves one seat for the Senior Residency program.

M.Tech Dairy Technology: The admission process for this program is similar to that of other M.Tech courses. The students can acquire admission in either the university's entrance exam or through the ICAR PG entrance where one seat will be allocated for the Senior Residency program.
