DAVIET Jalandhar Facilities

DAV Institute of Engineering and Technology, Jalandhar provides many facilities to the student and staff. DAVIET facilities and infrastructure include separate hostels for boys and girls with all the essential facilities. DAVIET provides a gym and sports facilities so that students can stay fit and active. The institute library has a varied collection of books, national and international journals, etc. DAVIET facilities also include an auditorium for conducting events, dramas, seminars, etc. Computer labs such as RDBMS labs, Computer Networking lab, etc are also available for the students that provide practical knowledge. DAV Institute of Engineering and Technology, Jalandhar facilities also includes medical facilities, bank facilities, etc for the students. Boys Hostel
The institute has hostels for boys with all the necessary facilities. Food is provided to the students. A resident doctor is also available to take care of the students in case of medical emergency. Recreational facilities like television, sports, etc are also available for them.
Girls Hostel
DAV IET facilities also include separate girls hostels. Students are provided with several facilities such as hot water, water coolers, etc. 24*7 security is provided in the hostels. Laundry and Dry cleaning facilities are also provided to the students. Recreational facilities such as sports, television, telephone, etc are also available. Mess is also available that provides nutritious food to the students.
Medical/Hospital
The institute provides medical facilities to the students to cater to the medical needs of the students. A permanent doctor and an on-call qualified medical officer are available at the campus. DAVIET has tie-ups with the nearby hospitals.
Gym
To ensure that students stay fit and healthy, DAVIET has a gym inside the campus with necessary machines that can be used by the students.
Library
The library is fully air-conditioned and computerised. DAVIET library has a vast collection of books, journals, magazines, etc. Students of DAVIET have access to a lending library, reference library, paperback library, non-print media library and a vast treasure of journals, current and back volumes.
Sports
The institute provides several sports facilities for the students such as Badminton, Cricket, Football, Basketball, Table Tennis, and Volleyball. DAVIET conducts Athletic Meet every year. Institute-level sports competitions are also organised in order to encourage the students.
I.T Infrastructure
The institute has a well-maintained IT infrastructure. Computer labs are available for each department. Students can visit the labs to gain practical knowledge. Laboratories such as RDBMS Lab, Operating System Lab, Central Computing Lab, Programming Language Lab, Project Lab, Computer Networking Lab, etc are available for the students.
Cafeteria

Auditorium
DAVIET has a fully air-conditioned two-tier Lala Chanchal Dass DAVIET Auditorium equipped with a modern sound system, wide-angle microphones, floor mics and hi-fidelity mics, etc. It can be used for organising drama. dance and other music & cultural activities.
Laboratories
It houses well-equipped labs of Electronics and Communication Engg, Electrical Engg, Computer Centre and Computer Labs of the Institute.
Banks/ATMs
Punjab National Bank with ATM is available inside the campus for the students and the faculty members.

College Infrastructure

DAV institute of engineering and technology Kabir nagar have well developed infrastructure and provide all the facilities like wifi equipped hostels, hostel for both boys and girls, and cafeteria, playground, and many more facilities. Overall infrastructure is good.

DAV institute of engineering and technology infrastructure is good. All the facilities provided by college like playground, drinking water facilities, library, and hostels for both boys and girls separately. Yes college provides us friendly environment.

Dav Institute of enggienring and technology jalandhar have well developed infrastructure and provides us all basic facilities like drinking water, wifi equipped campus, libraries and hostel for both boys and girls.

Out Of three- DAVIET Jalandhar,PU Patiala and CGC Landran, Which is best for CSE and Placements?

Hi Aspirant,

In my opinion, you should go for CGC Landran which is among one of the best colleges in Chandigarh. You can go for PU Patiala as well.

Now regarding CSE branch, the faculty at CGC Landran is far better than the other two ones. So there is no doubt in choosing CGC college for better academics.

CGC Landran has a placement rate of 90% with more than 600 companies visiting every year. DAVIET college has a placement rate of 85%. Considering previous year's placement records for PU Patiala, the college had 100% placements by 36 companies but the average package isn't high and ranges between 4-6 lakhs on an average.

Which course in btech is better among mechanical and ECE in the view of placement and scope according to future and current state

Hi
There are two important things that you should consider while choosing a branch.
i) Interest: If you are too much into cars, machines and stuff then he should go for Mechanical Engineering, if you are not that specific about it then you can go for ECE. Electronics and Communication branch has got wider options and easier life compared to Mechanical Engineers. I have my mechanical friends who are placed in good companies earning a little less than EC E guys but sweating a lot more than ECE people and also the company location is in remote places and the job is more demanding and hectic.

ii) strengths and future: One most important thing that slips off everybody’s head is that, finally for placements what all it takes? Is it how much you have scored or how much yow know or your soft skills what you have developed during these four years?
As far as your aggregate score, it should be more than the cut off of the companies, these days its around 8/10 (CGPA) for all engineering branches.
Now if you are in mech and you want to get into best of the best companies then you definitely need good management skills and it doesn’t matter how sound you are technically. This soft skill plays a crucial role in placements, I have seen people who are toppers in the department but got placed after average scorers because of poor management skills.
But in ECE, companies are not so much specific about management skills, all they ask for is how good you are in your subjects.
Regarding future, if he is going to go for MS or M.Tech then he should choose the branch by his interest and if he is going MBA he may go for ECE as ECE is considered as a tougher branch to get into when compared to Mechanical Engineering.
