IIT Kharagpur Facilities

IIT Kharagpur facilities include separate hostels for boys and girls, a library, cafeteria, classrooms and labs, sports, auditoriums and many more. Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur also has sports facilities for students who want to participate in sports. IIT Kharagpur sports facilities include hockey, football, cricket, athletics, and many others.

Apart from these, the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur campus also has a fully modernised aquatic centre for sports like swimming and water polo. All everyday necessities can be found inside the IIT Kharagpur campus' "Tech Market," which is a one-stop shop. Five kilometres away from the IIT Kharagpur campus, some markets are conveniently reachable in case of special needs.

Girls Hostel
IIT Kharagpur has 5 halls for girls which is fully furnished with modern amenities and has all of the necessary facilities.
Medical/Hospital
The B.C. Roy Technology Hospital, which offers indoor and outdoor medical facilities, is available to campus residents. There is also a counseling center to which all students, faculty, and staff have access.
Library
Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur has a central library. There are various printed resources available at the IIT Kharagpur library, which also has access to and a subscription to a number of national and international print periodicals as well as a collection of theses, micro documents, CDs, video cassettes, and reports. E-books are available for use by researchers, faculty, staff, and students. E-resources can be accessed remotely using login information.
Sports
Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur has two stadiums. There is also an indoor squash court, indoor badminton courts, basketball courts, volleyball courts, and table tennis facilities.
I.T Infrastructure
IIT Kharagpur students have access to the internet services, a computer center, and other IT-related services.
Cafeteria
The Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur has a wide range of on-campus cafeterias. Restaurants on campus include Billoos, Dreamland-Sahara, Hot Bite, Heritage, and others. Aside from the mess, each hall of residence has its own canteen.
Auditorium
On campus, there are three auditoriums that house the cultural competitions and activities that take place all year.
Alumni Associations
The college has a good networking for alumni association.
Wifi
The college has Wi-Fi facility for the students and staff.
Laboratories
Students have access to departmental laboratories at the college. They can go to the laboratories to get some hands-on practice for better learning.

Convenience Store
The ‘Tech Market’ is an all-in-one marketplace inside the IIT Kharagpur campus where all daily essentials are available. There are marketplaces outside the IIT Kharagpur campus within a distance of 5 km which are easily accessible in case of any particular needs.
Gym
For students, the IIT Kharagpur gym has all of the necessary machines such as a cycle, chest press, treadmills, dumbbells, and so on. They can stay fit and healthy by going to the gym.
Banks/ATMs
On the IIT Kharagpur campus, there is a post office and three fully operational bank branches. Educational loan facilities, foreign exchange, and ATMs are available on campus.
Boys Hostel
IIT Kharagpur has 16 halls for boys, each with all of the necessities. All accommodation halls have 24-hour electricity, a mess hall, high-speed Wi-Fi, and LAN.

hello I am 4th year mechatronics student but i want to gate in electrical please tell me how to apply in iit Kanpur automation and robotics branch and what is minimum gate marks for get iitk automations and robotics?????

Hello aspirant,

To pursue Automation and Robotics at IIT Kanpur candidates need to have a CGPA above 5.5. Also you need a valid GATE score. As you are from mechatronics branch you can appear for the GATE Mechanical engineering, paper code ME, It will be more suitable for you than appearing for GATE Electrical.

If you'll appear for GATE electrical it will be different from your branch and will be difficult for you cope with it.

Automation and Robotics welcome candidates from different branches that include

Aerospace Engineering

CSE, ECE, EE,

Mechatronics and Instrumentation Engineering.

Hence apply for GATE for ME paper code. You need not switch to electrical for this.
