The Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University, Bareilly, has its Department of Pharmacy providing various pharmacy courses at different levels, and this institute has been a leader in pharmacy education for more than two decades. Admission is so programmed as to admit the best candidates for its various programs, which are Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharma), Master of Pharmacy (M.Pharma) with Pharmaceutics, Pharmacology, and Pharmaceutical Chemistry specializations, and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Pharmacy.
The entry into courses conducted by the Department of Pharmacy is largely on competitive merit lists. The UPCET scores are taken into account for undergraduate admissions. Admissions for postgraduate courses of M.Pharma are done through the UP-CET merit list. Admissions for the Ph.D course are made either through the University Entrance Examination or the Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT).
The minimum eligibility criteria differ according to the program. For B.Pharma, the candidates should have a 10+2 qualification in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics or Biology. M.Pharma students should have a B.Pharma degree from a state-approved institution. Ph.D candidates should have a master's degree in pharmacy.
Application Process
The application procedure for Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University's Department of Pharmacy is different for different programs:
For B.Pharma:
1. Take the UP-CET-2021 examination.
2. Fill in the application form for the B.Pharma program on the official website of the university when the application process starts.
3. Provide correct personal and academic information in the application form.
4. Upload necessary documents such as UP-CET score card, 10+2 mark sheets, etc., and other certificates as may be applicable.

4. Upload necessary documents, such as B.Pharma degree certificate, mark sheets, and UP-CET score card.
5. Pay the application fee as prescribed.
6. Submit the filled-in application.
7. Wait for the publication of the merit list on the basis of UP-CET-2021 marks.
8. On selection, undergo the admission formalities, such as document verification and payment of fees.
For Ph.D Pharmacy:
1. Pass either the University Entrance Examination or GPAT.
2. Visit the university website for Ph.D admission announcements.
3. Submit applications through the prescribed portal when the call for applications is announced.
4. Complete the Ph.D application form with academic and research information.
5. Upload supporting documents, such as master's degree certificates, research proposal, and entrance exam scores.
6. Remit the application fee.
7. Submit the completed application form.
8. Shortlisted candidates are called for an interview or further tests.
9. Final selection is done based on the candidate's performance in the entrance exam/GPAT and interview.
Degree wise Admission Process
B.Pharma: The Department of Pharmacy offers the B.Pharma course with an intake of 60 seats. The four-year course is admitted through the UP-CET-2021 exam. The fee for the B.Pharma course is around Rs 3,01,000. The candidates should have completed their 10+2 with the necessary subjects to be considered for admission.
M.Pharma: Three M.Pharma specializations are taught by the department: Pharmaceutics, Pharmacology, and Pharmaceutical Chemistry. Each specialization accepts 9 seats, which account for a total of 27 seats for M.Pharma programs. Admissions are on merit basis of UP-CET-2021. The course period is two years, and the total fee charges around Rs 2,00,000. Candidates should be B.Pharma degree holders for eligibility.
Ph.D Pharmacy: The Ph.D program in Pharmacy is available for advanced research work opportunities in the area of pharmaceutical sciences. Enrollments into the program depend either on University Entrance Examination or passing the GPAT. The program takes around 6 years.
