This is because,

Lateral entry is allowed only for 3 years diploma in Engineering holders and not for class 12th passed students. Moreover not all colleges offer lateral entry.

---------------------) ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA


  • Qualifications required :-  To be eligible you need to pass 12th with Physics and   Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with any one of Chemistry /Biotechnology/Biology/Technical Vocational subject.

  • Minimum percentage required in 12th:- In general you need at least 45 % for general category and 40 % for sc/st in 12th in physics , maths and   Chemistry /Biotechnology/Biology/Technical Vocational subject taken together  to be eligible.

For example,

To be eligible for BTech in Rajkiya Engineering College, Bijnor , a government engineering college, one needs to pass 12th with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory/mandatory subjects along with one of - Chemistry or Biotechnology or Biology with at least aggregate of 45% marks (40% if you are from reserved categories ) in these subjects.

But yes,

To be eligible for top colleges like IITs, NITs, IIITs, CFTIs etc you need at least 75 % in 12th and 65 % in case if you are from sc/ st .

Admission in most of the engineering colleges is through Entrance examinations including top government colleges like IITs, NITs, IIITs etc and private ones like BITs Pilani, VIT etc

  • So to get admission you need to appear in entrance examination

  • Qualify the entrance examination

  • Participate in counselling

  • In the counselling you will alloted a seat on the basis of your rank in entrance exam, category etc.

  • After seat allotment you need to get your documents verified and pay fees and finally you get admission in the college.

Display of Seat Matrix was from 3rd December to 9th December 2020 .
