Every year, college is upgrading the infrastructure to get the good NAAC & other accreditation. Classes are well built and equipped, well maintained. With respect to mechanical stream, labs are not that much sophisticated & the instruments, apparatus need a revamp.
Some teachers are good but overall quality of education needs to be improved a lot. Teachers are generally loaded with nonacademic work, so don't give much attention towards lecture content and overall teaching. Curriculum is not updated and its upto MU to change the course structure as a lot has been changed into mechanical engineering field and more focus is now onto mechatronics area.
College is putting good efforts to bring companies. However, not so famous tag would make it difficult to attract good paying companies to the campus. For mechanical stream, situation is tough overall. But at my time, they have got us placed with good number of companies, that too in core sector.
Being private, it charges a lot fee per year, around 1.3 lacs for general. But the services provided dont seem to satisfy the fees charged. But overall you see, almost same fee everywhere.
I have made some great friends here. I like the way events are organised in the campus. College fests are also good. The only worst part is college focuses more on the attendence than anything else. This obstructs the students to do all that are there in the campus. Very neat and clean campus.
College is good for those who are based in Mumbai and doesn't get into any VJTI, SPCOE, KJSCOE.
The college stands in the midst of Mumbai with all the amenities nearby. The railway station is near to college thus making it easy for students to reach for their classeses easily. The college has a huge infrastructure culminating engineering, BMM, BMS, and Hotel Management. The campus comes with a football ground and a basketball ball court for all the sports lovers.
I studied Mechanical Engineering from DBIT. The quality of teaching is excellent as all the teachers have practical experience in their respective fields. The study has a lot of practical and industrial exposure thus making the students familiar to the industry standards and cultures.
Placements are a big part of me taking admission in DBIT. A lot of well known companies come annually for placements and the job acceptance rate is always on the higher side every year. The college encourages everyone to sit for placements and gives prior training to every students to make them ready for the placements.
The college has a decent fee structure as approved by Mumbai University. The fee is feasible in accordance with the infrastructure, teaching and campus experience provided by the college. I was very much satisfied with all the amenities.
The campus life is vibrant and exciting as all the above mentioned vocations come together. College fest like Hysteria and Colosseum gives every student a chance to show their talents not only in the technical field but also in the cultural field. The student life is really positive and competitive.
Overall DBIT proves to stand against all the best colleges in the city amd studying here would be a boon of knowledge and talent for any student. I would recommend anyone to opt for this college for a wonderful experience not only in the technical field but also in the cultural field and sports.
In the mind of salesians, DBIT would have to be an engineering college with a difference and so right from the start emphasis was laid on good infrastructure. The DBIT campus, have an area of about 6 acres. It has 4 wings, one wing now seats the EXTC & MECHANICAL department and other one seats each department on different floors . The topmost floor houses the Rev.Fr santino nondini auditorium. DBIT houses well maintained library, labs, digital library, football ground and even indoor games .
DBIT is a private minority engineering college which is affiliated to MUMBAI UNIVERSITY . As our college follows MUMBAI UNIVERSITY guidelines,so the quality of syllabus is same as others engineering college affiliated to MUMBAI UNIVERSITY BUT what makes DBIT apart is the quality of teaching staff. They all are supportive & extremely good at their subjects. Institute use technology to enhance quality of learning - use of moodle, a open source LMS software.
DBIT TRAINING & PLACEMENT cell is recognised by industries for providing the best trained students. The package ranges from 4-10 LPA for all departments . Top recruiters are Amazon AWS , Byju's , TCS , Voltas , SAP , Capgemini , Justdial , JIO & LTI
As it is a private college , fees is high and costs about ₹1,23,000 per year . But as our college is affiliated to MUMBAI UNIVERSITY students get scholarship. Even though fees are high , facilities compliments the fees .
Campus Life is good , even though our college don't houses huge campus, it has ground where sports are organised . Our college organises various competitions and programs to make students involve in extra-curricular activities.
As if you resides in MUMBAI ,it is one of the good colleges to be a part of . THANK YOU
Our college has all the necessary infrastructure, facilities and equipments. classrooms are well equiped with all the teaching materiels and all are used and well maintained. The campus is all cleand and hygienic.
I am studying computer engineering and the quality of teaching is all good but it is based on MU syllabus and this does not made us job ready but our college faculty tries to make us aware of all recent developments and tries to make us job ready.
The quality of placement is not that bad The placement percentage is approximately 90% for computer department. The highest salary is about 9 lakhs per year which was offered to an IT student and the average salary is 3.5 lakhs per year.
The cost of Computer engineering courses is 1,22,000 per year. Yes I feel like I am getting its worth not because of syllabus as it is based on MU which is outdated but due to the workshop and seminars which makes us more informed and updated.
campus is not that big as compared to VJIT, KJ, COEP. Student can engage themselves into the events like sports fest, college fest and many more.
Dont join MU because it is outdated join autonomous colleges like kj, ict, vjit, coep, etc.
College hass all necessary infrastructure. Everything is well maintained. Canteen has variety of food and also hygienic. Classrooms are clean. Floors are mopped daily. Washrooms are also clean. Libraries have all books necessary for the students.
Teachin staff are well mannered and experienced. Curriculum is from University. We were given good education to be ready for a job. College also has placements from reputed multi national companies. It also has extra curricular activities.
A very good percentage of students are placed in multi national companies every year. Human resources management are very well connected to many reputed companies. Placement process depends on the company's human resource.
I don't remember exactly how much I paid for my course but it was lower than other colleges with the same grade of education. I got a job because of my degree and working in the same line of work as was my education.
College campus is big, has a large playground and all kinds of sports equipment were provided. The library was calm quite and clean with all the books needed by a student. Teachers were very cooperative. It was only walking distance away from the railway station.
My college has a great infrastructure. We have huge classrooms consisting of both normal as well as smart boards.Labouratories consist of well developed equipments for doing various experiments.College has a normal library and library with internet connection for searching information or any other work. There are 2 playgrounds and some indoor games. The hostel is situated in a nearby location. All of these are well maintained.Living spaces are clean and food is also hygienic.
I am a student of mechanical engineering as I had interest in design and thermodynamics. The quality of teaching here is normal except for some of the professors having excellent knowledge of the subjects. Our curriculum is based on both old as well as new topics in the field. As I am interested in business administration I haven't decided about securing a job yet.
Our colleges has tied up with many renowned companies. The quality of placements here is fine.Mostly comps and IT students have a high percentage of placements than other departments but if you have the required skills then u will definitely get a good job.The highest salary package till date is of 12 lakhs.Currently I am in 3rd year so as of now I haven't experienced this process.
The cost of my course is generally around 1,22,000 for 1st year and then it decreases for following years. But since I am in OBC category my fees is around 60,000 to 70,000.I feel that I am getting my money's worth definitely as services and education here is very good.
We have a huge college campus. Its best features include large playgrounds and canteen which offers tasty and hygienic food.I don't know of any bad features. My college is very close to railway station. It takes just 10 to 15 minutes to reach there.Autorickshaw is also available. So it is safe.It can also handle emergencies very well.
The college has required facilities but maintainance is not done regularly. The facilities for sports are good and it has a good library with the latest books. The digital library also a large number of options available. The canteen could be better.
Acads are good as professors organise additional courses and seminars to improve the academic experience for students. The curriculum is based on Mumbai University and lags in certain areas but that is made up in terms of having regular workshops like app development, machine learning, PLC training etc.
Many multinational companies and Indian companies come for placements. Highest package was around 10 lpa CTC to a student from Computer Department. Average package is around 4 lpa. The choice of companies available is large and placement cell does a good job
Facilities could be better based on fee structure. Mentioned Facilities are sometimes not available to the students. Course fees are around 1.2 lakhs per year. This is around the average Mumbai University fee for Engineering .
Campus life is great as the campus is huge and there are many student chapters and organizations. Teachers also support these organisations so being a part of these organisations you get to be a part of a team and work on events and learn new skills
It has been a good experience and has it the potential to become better
Good but not as good as Thakur college or other clg which taking nearly same amount of fee. A and B wing are for enginnering students. Labs are average as some pc have problem. Chem lab is good, and that's all.
Quality of teaching is not so good. 70% of teachers will just read out the ppt. I'm learning from youtube as I could not change the eacher of that specific subject. maths faculty is nice and programming language faculty is also quite well. Theory teachers shld learn how to teach.
On papers, they say that we have 80%-90% placement. but god knows. Maybe at the end they will encourage you to study further n not sit for the interview. I heard, mechanical dept. has good placement ratio.
They charge arount 1.22 lakh every year. Which is huge as they are not providing facility like AC, free Wifi, etc
campus life is nice. We have various event in the month of Dec and january.
This is little bit strict college. They are stingy in term of giving marks. If you have 120-130 mrks try clg like Rait or anyother but not a christain clg.
Hello Bob,
As per your question , I would recommend you to take dbit Mumbai cs/it because I have this opinion that in case of private college taking a core branch is not a wise option because the placements in 90% of the private colleges is not up to the mark.
In case of dbit Mumbai cs/it you will be having numerous opportunities and would have the benefit of receiving higher packages than the core branch. In core you would receive majorly packages ranging from 4-5 L per annum.
Hi,
I hope you are doing well.
Thoppilan Romal Devassy and Kannan Sunder both natives of Mumbai are seventh semester students of the computer science branch in BITS, Pilani and have created history by being offered a whopping $ 2,35000 annual package (more than 1.44 Cr) by Google in 2013.
Deciding on the highest salary of a CS student graduate is a bit difficult. Several factors contribute to deciding the salary of a CS Graduate.
