Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar College of Engineering and Research (DBACER), Nagpur Founded in 2008 Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar College of Engineering and Research, Nagpur introduces the admissions process for engineering students aspirants. DBACER is affiliated to the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). This college consists of four undergraduate engineering courses to which the number of students entering is 666. For centralised admission, DBACER introduces the process so that the selection would be fair and transparent.
The admissions to DBACER are mainly based on the scores that are obtained in the Maharashtra Common Entrance Test, conducted by the Competent Authority of Maharashtra. In addition, the college also accepts scores from Joint Entrance Examination, Paper I. Hence, there are multiple pathways that lead the prospective students to this college.
The admission cycle typically coincides with the MHT CET and JEE Main examination dates. For the next session, the PCB Group's MHT CET exam is scheduled for April 9, 2025. No date for JEE Main has been announced as yet. The city intimation slip will be released on January 3, 2025.
The Eligibility criteria to get admission in the B.E. program of the DBACER would be 10+2 or equivalent exam with compulsory subjects as Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, and also qualified in minimum scores declared by the competent authority in entrance exam either MHT CET or JEE main Paper I.
2. H2 Degree wise Admission Process
B.Tech: DBACER offers four B.E. programs, each for a period of four years. All the B.E. programmes have the same admission criteria. For all the programmes, there is admission based on MHT CET/JEE Main scores. Details of the programmes offered and their intake are given below
These qualifications may also be obtained for scoring in all these programmes by gaining qualification obtained in CET held by Competent Authority or JEE Main Paper I. They select through centralized admission processes.
The admission process in the Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar College of Engineering and Research at Nagpur is as follows:
1. Must appear for MHT CET or JEE Main : Candidates must take either of the two tests: Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MHT CET) or Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main Paper I.
2. Registration for Centralized Admission Process: After the declaration of results of the entrance exams, the candidates are supposed to register themselves for the Centralized Admission Process carried out by the Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test Cell.
3. Document Verification: The candidates are supposed to submit their documents for verification at the centers specified. Usually, the following documents are needed:
4. Fill College Preferences: Candidates have to fill their college and course preferences during the CAP rounds.
5. Seat Allotment: Seats are allotted to candidates based on merit and preferences through the CAP rounds.
6. Documentation validation and fee payment: After conducting the CAP rounds allots, the candidates of DBACER should report to college on the scheduled date and should come with a given timeline to confirm admission.
7. Institutional Round: All seats not filled after performing every round of CAP DBACER may conduct institutional admission.
