Elumalai Polytechnic College, which started in the year 1983, is one of the oldest technical college for polytechnic course situated in Villupuram, Tamil Nadu. This affiliated college is located on a vast area of 95 ac and has been training future engineers for almost 40 years already. The college has been approved by the All India Council for Technical Education ( AICTE) and the college has a wide spectrum of diploma courses in numerous faculties of engineering. The annual student enrolment of Elumalai Polytechnic College is 1130 and the faculty members recruited for the college consists of 84 as of now.

Elumalai Polytechnic College provides among the best learning infrastructure aimed at improving the learning achievement of its students. Hostel facilities include male and female hostels with each a capacity of housing 300 students. These hostels well provided with commodious rooms, neat and clean toilets, some of the other facilities include recreation halls with plasma TV and RO water plant. The college library is resourceful with populations of over 15,000 volumes in technical books and over one hundred magazines and journals.

The college offers seven diploma courses and all of them are normal full time courses taking a year of three years. Diploma programmes offered at the college are Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Computer Engineering, Automobile Engineering, 3D Animation and Graphics Engineering.
