The infrastructure at VIT Chennai is exceptional, surpassing even that of many IITs and other private institutions. The air-conditioned hostels provide comfort, and the quality of food in the mess is commendable.
The academic competition is intense, but the curriculum can be considered moderate and fairly average. The teaching staff, while capable, is also average, so self-study plays a crucial role in mastering the material.
Placements are a strong aspect of VIT Chennai, with students often securing jobs with packages around 8 LPA, even with minimal effort during their time at the college. However, luck also plays a significant role in the placement process.
Your admission category greatly influences the overall value of attending the college. For students in Category 1, 2, or 3 under the CSE program, VIT Chennai offers good value for money. However, the same cannot always be said for other categories or engineering branches.
Campus life is arguably the most disappointing aspect of this college. There are numerous restrictions within the campus, making it difficult to enjoy a sense of freedom. Additionally, the process for leave approval is cumbersome, and outings are typically only allowed on weekends.

The college offers rigorous training for any and all placements offers that a student could get. The training is rigorous and can span over multiple days. As a final year mech student I have not fully experienced the training as it starts a little later for me.
The college ensures that you recieve the bang for your buck. With what I have paid for the college fees I am completely satisfied with what VIT Chennai has delivered in all academic aspects. The hostel was my only let down.
The best part of this campus is that we get full control over our teachers and time tables. However, there are a few over the top rules in place. Going out as a hosteller is too much of a hassle and in time is 9 pm.
The college infrastructure has all the basic technology and devices required for engineering students in any branch. The number of students studying in the university is large and are supported well by the infrastructure.
The courses offered are up-to-date and required in the current market and industry. Although the evaluation and quality of teaching vary greatly and mostly falls short. Sometimes the students are given multiple tasks or projects that over burdens them.
The placements are organized and managed by an independent body of the university which tries their best to provide students with opportunities. Though competition for placements is high and requires students to be dedicated from the beginning.
The infrastructure is very well established and has all the facilities for a mechatronics engineer and of other engineering domains and the best part is that one can use all their f it under the guidance of a professor for self improvement. The living spaces are also clean and wonderful.
The academic part of the college is also very flexible and at the same time helps implement the knowledge in the minds of those completing the courses. The subjects can be chosen as per the students wish apart from the mandatory ones and that helps a lot.
The placements is one of the top reasons for being in this college. Even the training of the placements is very good and the number of companies to select from is very vivid, there by giving us a lot of choices.

The overall infrastructure of the college is very good and well maintained. The pathways is covered with a canopy to protect us from sun and rain. The hostel has WiFi access. There are lifts in all the buildings as all the buildings are tall. There is all kinds of laboratory available related to engineering.
I am majoring in electrical and electronics engineering. The teachers have a very good knowledge of the courses they teach and often prepare presentation for the syllabus they teach. The curriculum is very updated. The teachers are also very updated.
They have a very good placement record. There are many companies which come for campus interview. Around 90 to 95 percent student are placed every year. The average package offered would be around 6 - 10 LPA. The college gives basic training regarding placement and interview.
I was able to do my course in 1.75 lakhs per year. My fee depended on the rank I got during their entrance exam. The experience and knowledge I gained are definitely worth the money I spent.I gained so many wonderful memories.
Campus Life is very wonderful. The college is pretty strict regarding their code of conduct. But the college has many clubs and activities conducted by these clubs. Since the college has a very diverse population of students it is easy to feel lonely but you can always find someone with same interests as you. The campus is in a safe and secluded location.
The College almost has all the proper infrastructure but a few areas have been under construction for a while since it is being expanded to accommodate the students. The labs and all the facilities in the academic blocks are very good.
I am studying computer science engineering. The curriculum is updated and up to date. The course I have taken alone cannot make me job-ready. The quality of teaching depends on the faculty taken and most faculty are very much into researching and will encourage you to do so as well.
The placements for the previous years have slowly gone down but compared to most of the other colleges , the rate of placements and the CTC has increased even with the recession. The average salary offered was around 9LPA.
Coming to the course fee, I do think that the amount paid reflects on the quality of education received. However, I cannot say the same thing about the hostels. I find that there is a big scope for improvement.
Campus life is decent as I personally have made friends that I can say will be lifelong friends. Events and festivities are always taking place so there is always something happening at all corners of the campus.

The academic environment at the college is overall good. The curriculum is well-structured, regularly updated, and challenging enough to ensure a comprehensive learning experience. It goes beyond just theory, emphasizing practical application through projects and internships, which are crucial for real-world readiness. However, the quality of education can sometimes depend on the faculty chosen.
Irrespective of the ongoing recession, placements for the 2024 batch were commendable. This success can be attributed to the college's proactive approach in involving students in various activities, including clubs, seminars, and competitions, as well as projects and internships. These experiences ensure that students are well-prepared and competitive in the job market.
The annual cost amounts to approximately 3.5 lakhs, with 2 lakhs allocated for tuition and the remaining for hostel fees. This can vary based on the length of the semesters. While it can be a bit costly, it offers good value for money given the quality of education and facilities provided. However, the food in the hostel could be improved.
