Gomantak Ayurved Mahavidyalaya and Research Centre, Ponda (GAMRC) is a prestigious educational institution with research efforts in Ayurveda. The two main programs conducted by the college are Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) and MD Ayurveda. Admission is purely based on merit to ensure the best-qualified persons are admitted to the programs.
Under BAMS, the admissions are through the merit list put up by the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) to be applied for admission into the college through the NEET scores. Also, GCET scores are considered for admission into the BAMS program.
The admissions for MD Ayurveda are granted based on scores from the All India AYUSH PG Entrance Test (AIAPGET) examination. AIAPGET is a national-level entrance exam for admission to postgraduate programs in Ayurveda and ensures that candidates possess a requisite level of knowledge and aptitude for postgraduate studies in Ayurveda.
Application Process
Applications to Gomantak Ayurved Mahavidyalaya and Research Centre depend on the program being applied for.
For BAMS:
1. Qualify the NEET examination with a valid score.
2. Apply through the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Government of Goa.
3. Fill the application form with all appendices.
4. Wait for the merit list prepared by DTE based on NEET scores.
5. If selected in the merit list, complete further admission formalities at GAMRC including document verification and fees payment.
For MD Ayurveda:
1. Write the AIAPGET examination. Scores obtained must be valid.
2. Apply to GAMRC at the time MD Admissions are open.
3. Fill in the application form along with AIAPGET scores and other attachments.
4. Wait for the selection list to be released based on AIAPGET performance.
5. If selected, completion of admission at GAMRC will follow which includes document verification and payment of fees.
Degree wise Admission Process
BAMS (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery): The total intake for the BAMS course at GAMRC is 65 seats and admission to this course is based on the merit list from the NEET exam. The candidates must have finished their 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as compulsory subjects. The student's application would then be scrutinized by the DTE, Govt of Goa, before the preparation of a merit list based on NEET results. The entire course fee for BAMS is approximated at about Rs. 785,280.
MD Ayurveda: The MD Ayurveda is offered by GAMRC for 6 seats. Admission to this master's program is conducted through the AIAPGET exam. Candidates should have completed their BAMS from a recognized institute to be eligible for the MD Ayurveda program. The entire course fee for MD Ayurveda is approximately Rs. 9,015,000.
