The Career Guidance and Placement Unit is responsible for conducting placement drives at GCE Kannur. The GCE Kannur placement cell organises training, seminars, group discussions, and mock interviews for the overall development of students. As per NIRF report 2024, GCE Kannur B.Tech median package was Rs 4,00,000 per annum in 2023. GCE Kannur M.Tech median package offered was Rs 9,00,000 per annum in 2023.

The placement process at GCE Kannur includes sending invites to recruiting companies, interested companies providing the recruitment data and announcement form, dates of campus recruitment are allotted based on information provided in the announcement form, pre-placement talk, and written test, resumes of the applicants are made available to the companies for shortlisting purpose, final and technical interview rounds and last, selected students are extended job offers.

Placements

The placement in my college is pretty good. CSE and EC departments have a much better placement records compared to other branches. The highest package offered in 2023 was 18LPA. Average package is around 7-8LPA. In CS almost 70% are placed. Internship opportunities are also provided by some.

Placements are increasing , you can look at placements static of the college in official website . More placements are offered to cse department, ece and eee. Now mech and civil are also getting good placements.

Cutoff for mtech in structural engineering?

Hello,

Cutoff list for masters' degree stream wise is not given. You have to wait untill counselling period. The rank list will be released. Universities have their own exam and GATE score is also accepted for MTECH admission.

For year 2018, GATE cutoff was 300 for general and OBC category for structural engineering.

Hi Nisha,

You have a decent rank but i suppose what you have mentioned is your category rank which could be a bit too high for GCE Katihar. To be honest the trend change every year so may expect a seat for yourself but you might have to compromise with the branch. You might not be able to fetch yourself the top branches.
