Government College of Nursing, Durg, Chhattisgarh, India, is one of the top nursing institutes. Located on the 4th floor of medical college Lt. Chandulal Chandrakar Memorial Government Medical College, it offers nursing training programs for aspiring healthcare professionals. The admission process of Government College of Nursing, Durg, is designed to select the candidates who will be committed to a career in nursing.

Generally, nursing admissions are conducted during May-June, whereas classes are usually commenced in August-September. These are the months when students are presumably competing with other possible candidates on the basis of certain eligibility criteria and/or an entrance examination. The college makes its admissions' policies under the aegis of the Indian Nursing Council INC along with the Chhattisgarh Nursing Registration Council.

Degree Wise Admission Process

B.Sc. Nursing: This is a four-year undergraduate program that prepares students to pursue a career in nursing. Admission to the course is usually based on a candidate's performance at the 10+2 level and passing a nursing entrance examination. To be eligible, a candidate must have done 10+2 in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English with an aggregate of 45-50% (40-45% for reserved categories).

GNM (General Nursing and Midwifery): Three years diploma program in nursing. For GNM candidates, the 10+2 should have Science for eligibility. The admission process may consist of a mixture of academic scores and performance in the nursing entrance examination.

Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing: This two-year program basically serves the purpose of upgrading the qualifications of registered nurses. The applicant must have a Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) and a valid nursing registration certificate. Admission to this program may depend on the past academic performance and practical work experience of the candidate.

M.Sc. Nursing: For the postgraduate nursing program, candidates must have completed B.Sc. Nursing or Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing with a minimum of 55% aggregate. Admission to the M.Sc. Nursing program is based on academic merit and a postgraduate nursing examination.
