Government Degree College, Poonch Facilities Details: Hostel, Campus, Infrastructure, Library, Canteen

The college has a separate hostel for the boy students. Hostel accommodation is provided to needy students who come from non-commutable far-off places within the district or outside.

The college has two separate hostels for Girls students. Hostel accommodation is provided to needy students who come from non-commutable far-off places within the district or outside.

The college is also having a first-aid medical facility. The district hospital Poonch is remained always at work for giving its services to the college. One Medical Assistant is at the disposal of the college administration as and when required.

The college has a Gym facility for the students.

The College library at present has a collection of about 45000 books. Every student has to deposit a security of Rs 30/-. The security is refunded every year in the month of June only. The claim for the refund should be accompanied by a "No Demand" certificate from the Librarian and various Textbook sections of the College Departments and it should be made within a reasonable time after leaving the College, but not later than two years in any case. There is a reading room attached to the College Library. About 20 magazines, newspapers, journals, etc. are being subscribed for enhancing the general knowledge of the students.

The college has one spacious playground, and one indoor sports Hall to cater to the need of the players.  The college encouraged me to participate in different sports events at the state and national levels. They are participating in the games of Hockey, Foot Ball, Volleyball, Kabbadi, Cricket, Kho-Kho, Table Tennis, Badminton, Boxing, Weight Lifting, Carrom, Cross Country, Athletics, etc.

The college has an excellent IT Infrastructure facility for the students.

The College Canteen which was totally damaged in the earthquake of 2005 has been repaired and renovated and is a function to the entire satisfaction of the students and staff. Hon'ble Minister for Higher Education during his visit was served a cup of tea in the Canteen and he appreciated the functioning of the Canteen.

The college has an auditorium facility for events and seminars.

The College has parking facilities for the students and staff on the college campus, in the boy's hostel and Residential complex, and in the Girl's hostel Complex. There is a Bus garage also for the College Bus.

The college has a good networking for the alumni association.

The college has a departmental-based laboratory facility for the students.
