GEC Wayanad Facilities

GEC Wayanad provides a variety of facilities and infrastructure to its students. Government Engineering College Wayanad facilities include separate hostels for boys and girls, a fully computerized library with a variety of books, periodicals, e-books etc. Government Engineering College Wayanad facilities also include a sports complex for the students. The college has a spacious well furnished cafeteria that provides a variety of food to its staff and students. The institute has a multi-purpose indoor auditorium and conference hall for events and seminars. The Government Engineering College Wayanad Alumni Association (GECWAA) is actively functioning in the college. Former students can join the association by paying a life membership fee of Rs. 1000/-. GECWAA offers various proficiency awards as well as endowment prizes for our students. The association extends its helping hand to pain and palliative unit of the college. Alumni Association is also ready to implement a new student support plan called WECARE which help poor students with good academic records to achieve their goals.
Wifi
The college offers WI-Fi connectivity on campus for the practical learning purposes of the students.
Classrooms
Virtual classrooms are used to conduct classes from remote locations using network technologies and NPTEL videos. The audio-visual equipment has been digitally improved and is set up for effective presentations with good audio reception.
Laboratories
The college offers spacious and well-furnished departmental based laboratories for the benefit of the students.
Boys Hostel
The college provides separate hostels for boys and girls. The hostel has a capacity of 240 students. The hostel ensures comfortable living of the students by providing them all the modern amenities such as a recreational room, dispensary, Wi-Fi internet connectivity, 24*7 drinking water, mess etc.
Girls Hostel
Government Engineering College Wayanad has two girls hostels that can accommodate around 320 students. The hostel has all the modern facilities and amenities such as well furnished rooms, 24*7 drinking water, geysers, indoor games room, television etc.

College Infrastructure

In our college we have two main block, main block consists of a main office and library and several classrooms,in second block consists of classes and faculty rooms. We have good canteen and store and amenities block and a good ground and a decent gym. We have good college hostel for both boys and girls. We have three other block consists of well equipped laboratories. Wifi is available in every block.the living space very calm and clean and we get decent food.

College Infrastructure

Yes the college has all the basic infrastructure and facilities except a college auditorium. T here is no auditorium but only an open stage which is left unused. Classrooms are good and equipped with projectors and some classes have smartboards. But there is no proper maintenance done. There is college wifi which is only accessible to the students who register their laptops at the office which is also available at the campus hostels. There are 2 ladies hostels and one men's hostel in the campus

well, Its quite pleasing with the infrastructure facilities provided by the management. Similar process have been initiated in bulding a new laboratory complex for more updated facilities included. Well there is also progression in the construction of 2 new basketball court in the campus. Overall the infrastructure is good

Sir/Madam, I have got 65 marks only in JEE main exam and I belong to OBC-NCL category. Can I get admission in any Govt engineering college

It depends upon the JEE Main and JEE Advance cut offs, If You manage to qualify the exam by achieving the cut off, You can apply for JOSAA Counselling. It should be noted the cut off for EWS/SC/ST/FEMALES/OBC category is lower than the general category

If you manage to qualify JEE Main Cutoff, You would be eligible for JEE Advance which is the intake exam for IITs as mentioned above.

However It is usually advised to fill the choices as per the preference of colleges and departments, for example CSE in NIT Trichy is your priority followed by CSE in NIT Warangal, you can fill CSE at NIT Trichy at serial number 1 and CSE at NIT Warangal at serial number 2 and so on and so forth. However to get any NIT, you must have qualified JEE Mains and to get any IIT, you must have qualifies JEE Advanced

But the previous cut offs of colleges should be taken in consideration, it is better to research over the cut off of colleges then make a preference list of colleges and fill accordingly

Hi Candidate,

You have been allotted a seat in the Government Funded Technical Institutions (GFTIs) at Raichur, so you might have got it from the JoSAA Counseling Process which is the official Seat Allotment Commitee for admission into the IIITs, IITs, NITs, and the GFTIs too.

So, if you are not interested in the current college alloted to you in the counselling rounds, you can either choose to Slide or Float your seat so that you get an opportunity to get another seat in the further Rounds.
